Can someone give some advice for this trip and the best route to take. Re: NEEDED 20/25 DOLLAR SAFE RV FULL HOOK UP IN TEXAS GULF COASTI'm not sure about parks in that area, but for 20-25 per night $600-750 per month, you can find some of the better parks in the RGV. Our park is $1350, I believe for five months.Re: Question for Pullrite Superglide ownersRe the earlier comments. An adjustment is likely needed on the set screw on the front of the hitch. This should be adjusted so that it takes both hands to manually swivel the hitch when the trailer is not attached. If you have questions, call the company, they are very helpful.Re: Can you jump your 5’er with your truck?I’ve never done it, but I carry two sets of cables for that eventuality.Re: Installing new anode rodThe anode is to protect your water heater. Magnesium will eat up much faster and likely gives more protection. That's what I use. As an aside, when was the last time you either drained your HOME water heater or checked the anode? I have one house with a water heater that is about 35 years old, and it still does not leak. I drain and winterize this house every year.Re: Portable Gen Wireless Start QuestionsI have the Champ 4650 with remote start. Less than a grand shipped. Works very well. Weighs about 100 lbs. I have a couple of seven foot 2 x 8's in the camper that I use to move in and out. I would recommend this unit over the 3000 watt models, since there is a good amount of headroom with little increase in weight.Re: Best solutions for internet - REAL solutions please! :)My son has Starlink, and he is very satisfied with it. I’m not sure about the practicality of hauling it around.Re: Additional fuel carrying capacity on pickupThe 26 gallon tank is a definite PITA. There are some underbed options, if a bit pricey. I carried a 35 gallon aux tank on the Alaska trip, but really didn’t need it.Re: Generators for 5erChampion has a new 4500 watt plus line which offers electric and remote start. If you are going to be off grid, I would "tough it" with one AC requiring only about 3500 watts. Carrying two 4500 watt units would be overkill --Re: F250 Short Bed Adding Diesel Auxiliary TankI have a 35 gal that fits right at bed height in my F 350 short bed. I just strap it in the front, and can easily remove it. I have a PR superglide, and the tank and pump clear fine. Hauled it all the way to Alaska and back and only needed it when I got lazy.
