Now the rest of the story. The road south from Algadones is very narrow and not well marked well.Re: Dental Implants- Los AlgodonesI have had dental work done this past summer there. Excellent care and quality of work and much lower price. I used Betel Dental and the have a web site, www.yasmincarvajal@aol.com. Just search and it should come right up. Let me know if additional questions come up.Re: Another Arizona in the Winter QueryWe snow birded in AZ for 5 years during the winter. Elevation for 4000 to 70 above sea level. We now like in Apache Junction year round. We stay outside until the 10:00 time and are comfortable, no coat. Yes, it can get into the 40's but only in early morning. By the time we get up we eat in the AZ room and are comfortable. Note, yes during this past new year at about 10:00 we had snow but none stuck. I really don't know of an area in our continental US that doesn't have some cool weather. Advise, look at some of the wind averages in some of the areas as it makes a large difference. Good luck finding your winter escape. Safe travels.Re: Gold Canyon Golf/RV ResortWhy are you looking at Gold Canyon? There are at least 20 RV parks with 50% RV spots in and around the area. Go to Apache Junction and Mesa, most north of Hwy 60. Look on north Ironwood. Some have wide spaces and some have only a few amenities if that is a need. We used Santa Fe RV park for a couple of years and really liked it. It is a Passport America park or was when we used it. It is the last RV Park on North Ironwood.Re: Gold Canyon Golf/RV ResortI live about 2 miles from the resort. Nice resort. Go to RV Park Review and the city of Gold Canyon in AZ for good information. Email back if other questions.Re: Just posted on Escapees RV Club ForumInteresting!! I stopped by Fry's yesterday and yes the warning sticker is posted on the diesel pump advising a 18 cent tax and $1,000.00 minimum fine. I asked the attendant if he could adjust the pump price to reflect the 18 cents and of course he looked at me as if I was crazy. I took it one step forward and went into the store and looked up the manager. I used a little stronger approach and said, I can't fuel my RV at the pumps anymore and get our credit for fuel points and again got that, are up crazy look. I did explain the sticker on their pumps and now there are two store employees involved. Bottom line they are looking into the problem and are to get back to me. It has only been 24 hours but no call yet. I will post when I hear back from them. My point is they not only are taxing those that own a 26,001 GVW and over RV but also taking away our earned discounts.Re: Migration southWe are in Apache Junction, AZ already. Arrived last Friday the 29th. Looking at a great 2014/15 winter.Re: Is anyplace in Arizona warm in winter? As a resident of Apache Junction, East of Phoenix, we have highs in the 70's and lows in 50's for December, January, and February. The wind will blow for a couple of days but generally is 10MPH or below. As in any state, there are wide ranges of temps and wind speeds. Again, the wind generally blows down the Colorado rive valley more than in the Phoenix area. Temperatures are cooler in areas higher than 4000 feet. Go to weather.com and it will give you average temps for almost any where. As a side note, we traveled AZ in a RV for four years before making Apache Junction our home. Good luck with you search.Re: sierra Del Saguaro RV Resortwe live in AJ. The sierra Del Saguaro RV Resort is mostly manufactured homes and trailers. They aren't known as a RV park but do have some open spaces for RV's. The area is good and easy access to wherever you want to go. Some parks like these are not friendly to RV's. There are a lot of great parks, large and small, north on Ironwood. Look north of Apache Trail. One that comes to mind is Santa Fe RV. It is a smaller park with limited amenities but has pool and shuffle board and club house activities.Re: Rocky Point,My DW and I traveled the new toll road from PP to San Luis last Feb. The road is good and no problem with any size Rig. The new port in San Luis is good and lane for RV without any tight maneuvering. Problem when we cam back, was the road in San Luis leading to the lanes at the port was being worked on and we had problems getting across the work to get into the lanes. We continued on and ended up on the toll road to Mexicali. At the toll gate we were told we could continue a couple of miles and turn around an get back to the port in San Luis. Now the rest of the story. At the turn around point the sign pointed to Algadones and knowing there was a port there continued to Algadones. Those that have walked across the port there know that it is very tight. We were able to get a 39 foot MH with Dinghy without unhooking. I would not recommend it or want to do it again but it is able to be done. My advise is to use San Luis. The road leading to the port there should be done my this time.
