My truck also has an exhaust exit in front of the rear tire. One day I had a jack...s pull up alongside me blasting offensive music I didn't care to listen to. His bumpers were vibrating and mine were too. I new the light timing of that intersection and my exhaust plume was 10 feet long as I passed his open passenger and driver windows. To this day I have zero remorse for filling his car with soot...and I never will. Sounds like there were two jack...’s at that intersection that day.Re: BC firesIf you are coming to the southern portion of BC you will be fine. I have been researching these trucks extensively and based on this I would recommend you make sure it has the 4:30 gears if you tow regularly.Re: New Maxxis yesterday- not so sureThank you to everyone for your responses. I will run them at 65psi as most suggest as I think we are typically on the heavier side with all our stuff for 2-3 weeks. I will fill with regular air from my compressor as I don't happen to have the ability to add nitrogen. I have sent an email to that manager at the tire shop letting him know my concerns. Hopefully the next family gets appropriate service. Good to know I can order them online. I will definitely look into that next time as I do prefer my local small town shop. Can't wait for our next outing.New Maxxis yesterday- not so sureI need some advice. I bought brand new Maxxis 8008 yesterday at a shop I have never used before. I had to travel 160km as they were the closest shop that has Maxxis brand tires. They are 225/75/15 load range D. They did the install and and balance. All went well and I made it home. I don't know the exact weight of my trailer. I am guessing around 8000lbs as sticker says unloaded weight before options is 6560lbs. 2008 Keystone Hornet 27BHS. They inflated these new tires to 45psi with nitrogen. I questioned the young installer about pressure and nitrogen. Said the lower pressure would provide a way smoother ride and they use nitrogen in all their tires as standard practice at that shop. I left assuming this young man had been trained and knew what he was talking about. Based on reading other posts I am now questioning the tire pressure. Should I add air to cold max of 65psi. We regularly load up for longer 2-3 week trips. 45psi seems low to me and defeats the purpose of load range D tires. It did tow just fine and all tires remained cool coming home. We were loaded for two days and no water. Advice please. FYI - our local shop only had Carlisles and another brand I had not heard of.Re: Advice on buying a new travel trailer on a budget? Both our RV's have been used. The first was a camper. Bought the camper privately used it for three years and sold it at a profit when child number two was born. We then bought our current trailer from a dealer. Both units were less than two years old when we bought them. We saved many thousands off the new price. Both have been good to us. Regular maintenance and attention to all the usual areas of concern is essential. I have been looking at new trailers with different bunk layouts as my children have grown in the last 6 years. Just can't justify the money they want for a new unit. When the trailer I want becomes available in great used condition I will buy it and save thousands again. My advice is know what you want. Plan for future growth. Be patient. And be willing to travel to make the purchase. Do a thorough inspection before handing over any money.Re: Off to Alaska Soon YES in FEBRUARY"In the winter a lot of fuel stops are closed till spring! Ask at every fuel stop north of Dawson Creek". This……. Keep it full in there north. Many stations are closed.Re: Anyone have a 2012 cougar 29 bhwse? Thoughts??Thanks Rob Have already been looking there as well.
