All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Michelin Cross Climate C Metric TiresI have installed the michelin agillis cross climate tires on my 25ft 2008 Navion Itasca. I wanted a good all weather tire with proper load range for my RV. They were great in the mud on last trip. Had them for about a year. No issues or concerns for me so far. I would get them again if available.Re: Making ovecab bed more comfortable on Winnebago navion? We use the memory foam top and it works out great. The only issue with the memory foam is that it gets pretty hard and rigid when the temprature is cold. It does soften up to normal after a few minutes of body heat. We use the memory foam on the overhead bunk and the rear bed. Works for us.Re: Winnebago View 24We have a 2008 24J diesel with a diesel generator too. Our 18 gallon propane tank will usually last about a month just running the fridge. Running the fridge and heater at night, it will last about a week. An option to driving to refill the main tank, would be to install a T fitting adapter at the propane tank. This way you could connect a spare 20 lb. propane tank if you main goes empty or if you just want to use the spare 20 lb. tank before you use the main tank. There are options... Regards, JimRe: Electric towedThat is a sweet ride. Congratulations. I have been using Plugshare.com and its phone app to find quick charging stations around the city. It shows Level 2 and 3 charging stations on a map and users rate them and post pictures. Great for planning trips that require a charge. Can you tow your smart car on all four tires or do you trailer it?Re: Electric towedWe just bought a used 2012 Mitsubishi I-MiEV SE full electric car with 5700 miles. It has a 62 mile range on a full charge, perfect for going in to town to run errands. Charges easily on a 120V plug drawing about 8 amps which gives it a full charge in 20 hours. The car is so easy to park. It does need to be towed on a trailer. Cant tow it on the rear wheels, which are the drive wheels. The car weighs about 2500 lbs, so even with a small trailer, it can be towed by my Itasca Navion (3500 lb. limit) I don't see any issue regarding over loading RV park electrical systems. It is a minor current draw compared to what RV's draw for running A/C's, lights, battery charging. The best part is the cost savings. No more paying for gas, oil changes, maintenance. Less than $2 to fully charge the battery. The car was $7800. No tax rebates. Only on new EV's.Re: 2008 Winnebago ViewForgot to mention that Yahoo forums has a great Winnebago Navion /View owners group. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/View-Navion/info A wealth of information.. I perform regular oil changes and maintenance myself, but I haven't had any mechanical issues, knock on wood. I installed a scan gauge II so i can keep an eye on turbo boost, water temp, MPG etc. 56K miles so far.Re: 2008 Winnebago ViewWe have a 2008 Itasca Navion, which is virtually identical to the View. 24J. Diesel engine. We get on average 13 MPG not towing anything. We love it. The handling is fine. My wife loves it because its very easy to drive compared to the larger land yachts out there. It has a great turning radius. Very easy to navigate parking lots and downtown areas.I wish it had a little more storage space. We added a cargo rack to the rear hitch and that gives us a great place to carry firewood, coolers, grills etc. The diesel generator is loud and stinky, so we added a 245 watt solar panel and that keeps the batteries charged. All in all, we are very happy with it.Re: Automatic leveling system on Mercedes Sprinter 3500 chassisWe have a 2008 itasca navion sprinter 3500. I have been using a couple bags of lynx levelers and my highly calibrated eyeball for leveling. Its been working fine for us for 2 years now. Id rather use my cargo capacity for more cold beverages. Good luck.:)Re: Sprinter V6 RV Owners, NAPA Oil Sale, $5.99/QtThanks. Will pick some up tomorrow.Re: New 2.lL 4 cyl diesel engine offered in Mercedes sprintersWe have a 2008 3500 series sprinter navion and have had no coding issues since we bought it at 30000 miles. It now has 48000 and still no codes and I have not have had to bring it in for servicing. I do all the maintenance myself, filters, oil, etc. We did go into limp mode once after fill up in California, but was fine after shutting off the engine for a few minutes and starting up again. So far we are happy with this RV. If we had to buy new, I would pay the upgrade price for the six cylinder. Darn the MPG, full speed ahead....
