Buyer's guides in general you'll find give very little information for any particular model and are by and large a waste of money. They are very general so as not to possibly offend advertisers and lack space to write much at all. Narrow your search and go look for yourself. We have looked for the past year and a half with a very specific list(s) of what we wanted. DW had her list for the interior and I had my list for engineering and build quality developed over many years of RV ownership. The industry is looking at shipping over 550000 units this year and quality in the entry level units will suffer as it has in last years. Some manufacturers are touting that they build a unit in under 8 hours (check YouTube). We started with a preowned TT, to a Class A gas, to a Class A diesel pusher and now a fifth wheel. Find a dealer that you trust, be as prepared as possible and enjoy the ride. As far as a tow vehicle is concerned, buy the truck that is adequate for what you plan to tow fully loaded plus a little additional capacity. Good luck.Low bridgesWe sold our motorhome a while ago and at 12'6" tall we had no worries about low bridges on interstates or secondary highways. We just bought a 5er that is indicated in the specs to be 13'6" tall. I will measure it for actual height and I have purchased a Motor Carriers road atlas which should help. While driving along I-94 in Detroit I noted that some overpasses were indicated to have only 13' clearance. Further research has shown that these bridges are not listed in the road atlas. Does anyone know of a good app that lists low clearances by state and route? The GS trip planner only indicates clearances under 13' which could end up being expensive. Most 5er height specs that I've seen in literature indicate 13' 4" to 13' 6". Thanks for any input.
