I found that if we were situated in a spot for more than two or three days, I had to tighten them up. I decided to now install them on our new 5vr because the old back took a beating everytime I had to tightened the T-Handles on the Strongarms.Re: Slide out unevenIf your trailer is still under warranty, take it to the dealer and have the misalignment repaired. We had a similar issue with our 2014 Avalanche and after several operations of the slide, the drive mechanism broke loose from the slide and damaged the slide exterior facia and mechanism. When the slide drive was repaired, it was found that the front end of the slide still had 2 1/2 inches to move when the back end of the slide was closed. The gear on the front drive had to be uncoupled and turned to move the front rack bar and the front of the slide in the 2 1/2"Re: Verizon Cell Phone service in CanadaYou are heading to areas that have very sporadic 3G networks. There will be little or no service along the railway to Churchill. Bell Canada has the largest network and here is a link to it's Coverage Map.Re: Joined the dropped 5'er club dpgllg wrote: I made up my mind after reading similiar posts here to add the Blue OX Bed Saver years ago. No I have never needed it YET! I shopped online and got it onsale and with coupon and free shipping picked it up for $90. I view it as insurance. No you don't want to use it but you are sure glad you have it when you need it. Exactly!!!It's the cheapest insurance you'll ever buy. It's saved me from a lot of embarrassment once and that paid for itself.Re: CameraGo for the "wired" system. It will all the time every time!Re: Fridge in slide-outs?We had to have our fridge replaced and because it was mounted in the slide, it came with two 12V large computer style fans mounted at the top of the fridge. They operate from thermostats and work great and are very quiet. The fridge is cold even in very hot weather.Re: 120 to panel but nothing worksI had a very similar incident when we were in Texas last spring. I had 120 at the panel, but every time I tried to operate something with it, the 120 disappeared. I checked all the internal 120 circuits for shorts and loose connections and they were all ok. I finally checked the shore power cable, where it connects in the junction box. I found that vibration had worn the wire nut insulation on the neutral and it was grounded to the box. Since it was after dark, I made temporary repairs and our 120 was working again. I made proper repairs to the connections the following morning. When I opened the junction box, this is what I found.Re: Is Shaw Direct Satellite TV Going the Way of Bell? vwsportbug wrote: popupcamping wrote: Do you think there is a shaw exec on this forum going to tell you? While I wouldn't completely rule that out, the last two responses (from Wilco & Hamops) were actually helpful and seemed to have come with fairly direct input from Shaw. Perhaps one of them is a Shaw exec...... I'm no Shaw Exec, but I did make contact with one of their people to get clarification on their new policy. The Spokesperson from Shaw stated that now that their new satellite is service, an Head Office decision was made to no longer support RVr's whether in Canada or the U.S. As of May 31,2013, Shaw will support fixed location customers only and only at the billing address. If you have a cottage and use you dish temporarily there, no support will allowed unless you have a separate account for your cottage with all the applicable fees and charges that go with it .Re: Is Shaw Direct Satellite TV Going the Way of Bell?Shaw has a third satellite for it's HD service and it's footprint will only work north of the about 43rd parallel. This does NOT mean that you will not be able to receive the two original birds because you will. As of May 31, 2013, Shaw changed their policy and decided not to help Snowbirds with setting their dishes south of the border. Snowbirds will be on their own from now on. Though unlike Bell, Shaw will not shut you down for viewing Anik 1 and Anik 2 signals in the U.S. That's the good part. I talked to both the CRTC/Industry Canada and the FCC in the U.S. and the question of viewing legitimate satellite service in the U.S. for Canadians and in Canada for Americans is illegal in the truest sense of the law. It would be up to the I.C. in Canada and the FCC in the U.S. to enforce the law. In my conversation with the FCC person, he mentioned that when the direct satellite to TV service was set up under the World Trade Agreement, Canada and U.S. took exemptions to the WTA, so that the Canada and the U.S. would have their own Satellite services and not try to take each others business. That meant that Bell and Shaw would get Canada and Dish and DirecTV would get the U.S. and there would be no overlap. With this "no overlap", it is illegal to view the opposite country's satellite service whether legitimately or illegitimately(gray market). In my discussion with the FCC person, he stated Industry Canada and the FCC have a very good working relationship. He said that since this situation was never even thought of in the original negotiations, he would, with permission, check with his I.C. contact in Ottawa and see if some provision could be made for RVr's to view legitimately obtained satellite service in each others country. Let's hope that something comes of it. In the meantime, with all that, it's not likely that we'll see the RCMP or FCC Enforcement Agents, roaming through Campgrounds or RV parks checking for illegal satellite dishes. Hmmmmm........maybe I'll paint over the logo on my dish with some gray primer paint just in case. :WRe: Drip pans for Atwood Wedgewood stoveYou probably should go to a different method of coffee making. If I was making your style of coffee and happen to mention to my DW that it's always messing the stove, there would be only three words come out of her mouth. "Stop making it." :W
