I think someone posted way back on page two or three that these Federal regulations only apply when you are on the NN or National Truck Network of Federal highways, unless a particular state has passed state laws to use those regulations on other highways. If you look at a map of the NN there aren't many highways on that map. Wyatt-S, Thanks for the information. I thought just moving the jumper would be fine since I didn't see anything else attached to the red post either front or back. I would have used a jumper like your schematic if my box of electrical supplies had been available, but it is 25 miles away. I got into this project mainly to see what it looked like under the generator head cover and got impatient and wanted to getter done since it is so easy to do. The 120 volt plug on the PowerPro is a 20 amp, not a 15 (at least it says 20amp) so the circuit is probably good for at least 20 amps or else they would have used a 15 amp plug. Wyatt-S, I rewired my Powerpro 3500 according to your schematic and it works even better than it did before. It would run my airconditioner, converter, and either a microwave/coffemaker/1500w heater before but the voltage would drop to close to 108. Since I rewired it the voltage with the air-converter-heater only drops 3-4 volts according to my cheap meter (Fluke is on the boat). The thing I really like about your method is the ease of making the change by just moving two wires on screw connections. Instead of using a bridging wire for the red/brown connection I just moved the red wire that comes from the generator head over to the brown connector screw. I didn't see any reason it wouldn't work that way. Thanks to everyone for the good information on this thread.297Views0likes0Comments
