Thanks for the responseRe: I've come full circle.... Back to a travel trailer!Thank you gbopp...I've come full circle.... Back to a travel trailer!I've camped in a tent, pop-up, teardrop, Layton travel trailer, 2 5th wheels and 2 truck campers. I am now retired and living in Florida in a 5th wheel (for now anyway). Our plan was to use our Lance Truck Camper to see the country. But as I get older it seems to get harder and harder to get the tailgate off, line up the truck on the Lance and back under it. Barbara is finding it harder climb into the bed and make it up and if we stay anywhere for an extended period, the camper comes off the truck. It's just not as easy as it once was, so she and I had a long talk about how we want to camp in the future. We decided Travel trailer... But which one? We did look at many. We almost bought one at Camping world but as he went to start the paperwork, someone hooked up to it and took it to another dealership.. I might have been just a bit irritated over that.... So, we looked at a camper we have both really liked for a long time... We just never thought we would actually pay that much for a camper... We decided Airstream... What a nice camper.. I believe I paid a lot for the name but wow what quality too. Anyway.. Travel Trailers... We are back... See you on the road!Re: Heavy Truck Campersnice looking truck thoughRe: Halloween Time:) cant wait to go to bethpage vaBethpage is great but now very expensive since opening the water park.. But as you said, It is a great place. I miss going there.Re: Just Checking inyes we started with the 5th wheel but love traveling with the Truck camper. Would love to be traveling around Australia with the TC.. I have visited Perth and Brisbane... Great place!!!Re: We are Coming to the "Dark Side" hammer21661 wrote: OK I have done a little reading and correct me if i am wrong. If your group has truck campers and you buy a fifth wheel you have gone to the dark side. If your group has gassers and you get a diesel you have gone to the dark side. If every one else uses wood blocks and you start using lynx levelers you'd be going to the dark side. Basically when you upgrade above your peers you go to the dark side. Like when somone becomes a cop and you never see them again cause they always hang out with all their cop buddies. I think I got it!? No one said going to a 5th wheel over a Truck Camper was an up grade.. It's just a different kind of camping. I have both and love both.. My truck camper friends call the 5th wheels "furniture haulers", 5th wheel friends call the Truck campers, "those little campers" I enjoy both for what they are designed for.. It's all good!Just Checking inI haven't been on RV.net in a couple years.. BUT I plan to be here more as we get closer to retirement. Greeting to all our Truck camping Friends!Re: What's behind the name? Screen name that is.I could have sworn that I had posted on this but I just looked at every post and I ain't there... headinsouth.. We were both born and raised in North Carolina.. We love being in Florida and we live in Maryland.. It seems most every time we go some place, we are heading south... soo headinsouth... This has been some very good reading on a boring day.. Happy Campin! And Happy Thanksgiving!!Re: Members welcoming fellow membersWe are in Southern Maryland.. Between the Potomac and Patuxent rivers and the Chesapeake Bay.... about 30 miles off rt 301..
