All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsSlider ProblemWe just got our camper and we noticed when the back sliders go out they start sliding out from the bottom but the top sticks. Then after the bottom goes out far enough the top kind of jumps out but the slider is crooked. I have to go inside and push on the top and it straightens up. Is this just a new slider thing that will work out with time or a more serious problem? Should I lube the top up with some grease or something? Thanks We have a Forest River Sierra Bunk House.Acessories for a TTSo it was suggested I start a new thread on this. I am going to buy 1. A surge protector for the RV any suggestions on what I should buy? 2. A cover to protect it while it is in storage for the winter any suggestions? Do you guys have any suggestions on any must have accessories? ThanksRe: Is extended dealership warranty worth it?I usually skip the warrantees. I just got a little nervous with a camper because I read so many lemon stories. However most of them happened in the first year or two. A few things I was planning on buying was 1. Surge Protector 2. A cover for the winters I bet those two don't cost $2500 put together. Anything else you guys recommend? Is extended dealership warranty worth it?Usually I skip extended warranties on everything I buy. I have never had a need to use one and I feel if a manufacturer is willing to give a 5 year warranty it is because they feel most of their time their product will outlive the warranty. My dealer is offering a 5 year bumper to bumper for $2500. If the TT is within 100miles of the dealer they will send someone out to fix it. If it can't be fixed they will tow it and fix it at the dealership. It sounds like a good deal and having read so many posts of people having issues it seems like a good idea. Do you guys have an opinion on them? We are buying a Forest River Sierra 402qbRe: Toy Hauler VS Travel Trailer 1jeep wrote: I ride both south and north, I only know of one place in southern nh with trail access out of the campground and now there has been some trail closure over there. Good luck with the new trailer! 1jeep hey can you toss me the name of that campsite. I actually had a hard time finding anything in Southern NH with ATV trail access. I might want to check it out in the future.Re: New camper looking for adviceI wanted to thank you for the advice here and in the TH forum. We have settled on a campsite and a trailer we are picking up the Forest River RV Sierra Destination Trailers 402QB I know there is no way in hell my Tundra can pull it but it is delivered and setup for free and the site allows winter storage. However since we only hit 40k of our budget I am pushing the wife towards getting a used 1 Ton cause you know I might need to use it once or twice a year.....Re: Toy Hauler VS Travel TrailerUp in northern NH we looked at some closer to us in Southern NH but it did not feel like we were "getting away" being 20 minutes from the house. Plus the trails down here are not that good as opposed to coos country with over 1k in trails. We are going to look at the following TTs on Saturday on our way to the campsites we are looking at. Coachmen Liberty 320BHS Grand Design Reflection 312BHTS Forest River 294BH Thanks for the postings BTW I mentioned to the salesman we would want to do a PDI before delivery and would need some water in them. He said it would not be a problem. We are not buying anything Saturday TBH we probably won't pull the trigger until Jan sometime. Since we probably won't hit our 80k budget we are also going to look at F-450, Sierra 3500HD, and the Ram 3500. I can always use another truck.Re: New camper looking for adviceThe three we are going to look at offer 30amp, water, and sewer. The sights range from 20 by 40 to 30 by 60. What we have discovered is that many places we have called are a closed system. You can only get a seasonal if you buy one in place already or buy from their local dealer. Seems like a pretty good business model. However when we looked at the listings they were all park or destination that are never going to move they have all been skirted and have additions on them. BTW all three campsites we are going to have used trailers for sale and a lot of people have suggested going used right out of the gate to save $$$ and to avoid new car bugs.Re: Toy Hauler VS Travel TrailerWe are going to look at three campsites on Saturday. They all allow non permanent structures. I do kind of like the idea of just finding a used enclosed trailer on CL or something and using that as a shed.
