Why give a discount when your CG is constantly full. That's a good point terry. It definitely didn't change my mind about going.Good Sam Club and James Island County ParkThis is probably old news for most, but when I called to make reservations this summer at James Island in Charleston, I was told they are no longer a Good Sam park. It's been a couple of years since we were there so I don't know when this changed. Just a heads up in case anyone was planning on going.Re: It has been a great week, but coming to an end soonGreat post! Welcome to SCRe: Greenville, SC campgrounds - pros and consIf you want to stay on Lake Hartwell, there's Twin Lakes COE park in Clemson. They do fill up though on Clemson home game weekends.Re: Use Dish Hopper with Tailgater seagul1 wrote: Thanks for the info. You have help me make a decision. But if you still want a Tailgater I've got an almost new one that needs a home :)Re: Pine Mountain RV Park, Pigeon Forge, TNWell I can't guarantee you a warm December, but I can guarantee that you'll love Pine Mt. You'll also have privileges at the hotel across the street. As Duck said, the river sites are the best if you can get one. Pine Mt is close to all the activities of Pigeon Forge, but far enough away that you don't hear all the traffic of the main drag.Re: Good spot at James Island County Park?CapeM1, we spent all last week at JICP and I can tell you, don't wait too much longer before you call for reservations. Even this early, you will probably be limited on what sites are available. We stayed on 82. It wasn't my first choice, but it wasn't a bad site by any means. Stay away from 118. It's was too narrow for me to open my slides on a previous visit a couple of years ago. 46-49 are very private due to the tree growth. If you're looking for a pull through, site 29 and 31 were more shady than the others. Other than that, there's really not a bad site in the park. Some of the sites do back up to the road and the overflow lot, but there are trees between you and the road, so I didn't see that as a problem. The water park was open one day last weekend and you do hear the constant whistle of the lifeguard on duty. One of our favorite is 113. Hope this helps some.Re: Trip Report: The Perfect Family Trip!Wow, I've been glued to the screen for 17 pages. You've done something I dream of doing someday. And we are almost neighbors. I'm in Upstate SC too.(Pickens County) We mainly camp on Lake Hartwell and usually a trip to Pigeon Forge or James Island every year. I almost feel like I've experienced the trip with you. Great job!!Re: Gatlinburg RV Parking? The trolley you're referring to will drop you off at the Gatlinburg Aquarium. On the way back to the visitors center you probably won't go straight back to the parking lot. He usually makes several stops on the way back...at least he did with us.Re: Dish Tailgater ol Bombero-JC wrote: Happy Camper2003 wrote: Oh you're a real comedian ol Bombero! The last time I used it I had a completely clear shot of the sats. Most other times I figured it was a placement issue.
