We are running 22k fully loaded with the atvs and camping gear, about 17500 empty. It's a commerical gooseneck style trailer. No issues with the truck pulling (knock on wood it stays that way). I have the B&W turnover and can get a companion 5th wheel hitch for the truck. It is a pain to get into the truck to hook everything up especially when solo. I have thought about inserting a 5th wheel tube in the gooseneck and using a 5th wheel hitch. My son's only counter argument is the weight of the hitch to install. I am looking at ride quality and ease of hookup. The only issue I see is our lake/storage lot I have to go down the driveway, then turn left and up a hill. so there is a little bit of side to side action the trailer has to be able to maneuver. all the research/googling etc shows to convert 5th to gn, and only sales videos about gn to 5th. thoughts please. thanks!Re: 32ft Gooseneck Cargo Conversion to Toy HaulerUpdate photo https://drive.google.com/open?id=1K5JrgCI9695oUQwj0FqRWRPW3JQSM5orVCBcozsb9-0Re: Adding a Toy Hauler Extensionball park, what's the cost of an extension? does it reuse the rear door? I currently have cargo doors and want a rear door. I could also use 12" more at the rear.Re: norcold rv refridge issueI will be working on the cabinet this week. went back to my lot and took the top vent off to reuse. The only issue is the top of the new trailer is rounded, so I will have to slant it inward like in the middle option of a diagram I found. Option 1 was roof straight up, option 2 was roof inset 6" with a baffle directing the air that way, option 3 was wall. I will have the trailer battery tomorrow at the house with the trailer to test power. I will only run the fridge without a cabinet long enough to test power.Re: norcold rv refridge issueis there a preference or advantage to roof vent over wall vent on the upper? I would prefer not to cut a hole in the roof.Re: norcold rv refridge issueThank you. That just sucks then that 3-4 years ago I scrapped a perfectly good working fridge. Live and learn, I was ready to go to the RV service tomorrow to have it checked before I built a cabinet around it.norcold rv refridge issueremoved a 2008 norcold refridge from a hybrid camper. camper is water damaged and is being used as a donor. I either got the shaft or am not doing something right. We removed the fridge very carefully. We only cut the propane line (obviously it was empty) and cut the 12v leads back a foot or so. We leveled the fridge in the garage at home and there is no power to the unit on 110v. checked the fuses, all good. any suggestions? this happened to me 3 years ago when I stripped another water damaged unit. I ended up scrapping the fridge because it wouldn't come on. I am pretty sure, but don't want to swear on it, but I saw it running when I plugged it in. Now I'm not even getting a light.Re: 32ft Gooseneck Cargo Conversion to Toy Haulerplumbing and HVAC are soon to be installed. We have a rooftop mounted AC to be installed. We have an underbelly water tank so we will route plumbing from the tank soon. The section of flooring that is over the tank is just sitting there at this time. We will have a propane furnace, again from donor camper, which will go under the fridge, also from the donor camper. Using the power converter box from the donor camper. Wiring up 110v and 12v. All lighting is 12v so it can be run on battery or shore power. 110v was run through framing members in the floor inside 3/4 conduit and junction boxes. All 12v wire is sheathed and insulated with grommets where it passed through framing members. Windows are to be installed above each fender, and one in the loft. The will be framed in with 1x2 tube steel as everything else is on trailer. The donor camper only had one small window, so we elected to just make that work. We did find some windows on marketplace, however they were white frame, and with the rest of the trailer having black trim, we elected to stick with one window. No shortcuts. We are even adding a DVD double din 12v stereo along with a 12v/110v tv so the kids can watch TV if stuck inside on battery.Re: 32ft Gooseneck Cargo Conversion to Toy HaulerHere's what we started with https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DQAPVuEmYtWF1L01ghutAqYg26e7nh0Y/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1194ciqCLKPf6RqVrQzRpP22cD1Cfx62b/view?usp=sharingRe: 32ft Gooseneck Cargo Conversion to Toy HaulerHere's the plans.
