We found a resettable type fuse near the battery that needed to be reset. It was a red looking small square thing with a very tiny black button to push to reset.Re: Sold the Cougar, looking at a Montana MountaineerUpdate on the Montana, we have settled on the price. The owner had to go pay off the loan then wait for the title to arrive. Looks like it will be a couple more weeks to wait. Messes up our planned trip to Gatlinburg area. Waiting patiently now.Sold the Cougar, looking at a Montana MountaineerHowdy All, We sold our 2006 Cougar which served us well for the last six years. We wanted a little more sitting room and to not have the shower in our bedroom this time. We found a locally owned 2013 Montana Mountaineer 295RK that is really clean for sale near by. My wife liked the extra counter space of the rear kitchen. The mid living area has a sofa sleeper and two swivel recliners. We originally wanted to buy new but with today's prices this really nice used one is 1/4 of the price of a new one. Going back tomorrow to make sure everything works as it should. It might be our barn by the weekend.Re: Back to truck campersWe like ours because we can take everything with us where ever we go. I have food allergies so we don't eat out. So having our kitchen and bathroom with us where ever we go is awesome. We were hiking at the Grand Teton's a couple of years ago. Once we got done we got in the camper, cleaned up, ate some lunch use the RR. Couldn't do that if we'd like a 5th wheel back at the campsite and just drove the truck.Re: How to repair sub-floor in popoutTake a look at this guy's video. He did a similar repair to his 5th wheel. https://www.loveyourrv.com/rotted-rv-slide-out-floor-repair-fixed-manufacturer-flaw/Re: Maiden Voyage with Scale StopLooks like a good time Burbman. For RV surplus we've visited Ickes RV Surplus in Montpelier Indiana. We bought a replacement microwave for our camper for $50 there.Re: Step to reach hitch pin rhagfo wrote: Likes to tow wrote: Had the same issue reaching my B&W handle and pin. I'm 5'7" and 75 so trying to put my foot on top of the tire was not a good solution. I found a tire step on Amazon and it works perfectly plus it folds up and I lay it in the floor behind the driver seat in the truck. Check it out https://www.amazon.com/s?k=tire+step&crid=1ACA51XEMAIFH&sprefix=tire+ste%2Caps%2C126&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_2_8 Link I gave your steps a link. My issue is the hips on our DRW make it a bit of a reach, this works great. Unlike folding stool/steps, it won't kick out when you lean in. I think I'll have to get one those you've put a link for. I will typically climb up on the outside dually tire to lock and unlock the hitch and then jump down. This will make it a lot better for my knees. I could see myself also using this on the front tire to get up to wash the windshield.Re: Extensive Traveling with a 5th WheelIf you like your current camper just keep it and enjoy spending more time camping in it. We have an older Keystone Cougar. I wouldn't hesitate spending a few months in it if I was retired. In my opinion, your camper will be fine.Re: 5er Noob Looking for a HitchHowdy Burbman, We have the B&W companion in our Dodge Ram. When we purchased the truck it already had the B&W gooseneck so getting the companion was an easy decision. We were thankful to find a used one on craigslist for about 1/2 what a new one cost. It's a nice solid hitch, with no play. However it is quite heavy. I lift it in and out of the truck with the loader on my 1025R. Once out of the truck I place it on a couple of harbor freight furniture dollies.Re: Bed cover for F350 with fifth wheel hitchWe put a TruXedo TruXport Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover on our Dodge a couple years ago. Bought it to move furniture and other items to our son in Georgia. It stays on the truck all of the time now. It's nice to go get plywood or sheet rock and not have to worry about something blowing out or getting wet. When it's time go camping we roll it up, drop in the hitch and hook up the camper. It's also nice to be able to keep the firewood and hitch dry when camping if rain is in on the way.
