The other camp ground we liked a lot is Hatteras Sands in the village of Hatteras. It's not on the beach but it's very close. 5 minutes from the Ocrakoc ferry. Both have web sites. Have fun. We love the OBX and can't wait to get back there. Have fun.Re: First Long Trip -- What are the "must dos" and "must haves"?We use "Next Exit" for fuel and food stops. It will tell you if the stop is big rig friendly. It's never failed us in 10 years. I always travel with some water. (About half tank). I like using my own bathroom and you never know when you will need water. (Over heating vehicle,ETC) Make sure your tires are properly filled on the Tow vehicle and trailer. Don't forget the spares. I also heard of people taking an extra spare for the trailer. I've never done that but it couldn't hurt if you have the room. Last but not least. Enjoy the journey. Stop along the way and see the sights. Have fun and safe travels. PatRe: First trip of the season. One week and counting until our first trip of the season. We are soooooo looking forward to it. PatRe: My Summer ProjectGreat job. It looks really nice. Lots of work but I am sure you have lots of personal satisfaction.Re: Jayco roof / owner failure colliehauler wrote: Pat & Karen wrote: Been there done that. Paid $4000 to have the roof replaced. My repair guy thought it was a manufacture defect but Jayco wouldn't cover it because it was out of warranty. Extended warranty excludes roofs. They even had another similar Jayco come in with the exact same problem. What a bummer you had to "find" it when you were trading it in. Congrats on the new trailer. Enjoy it!!!! Pat A lot of Jayco's used TPO roof with a felt back that would wick water and rot out the roof. I'm not sure there is a lot you can do to prevent this. Exactly what happened. My repair guy used a different material that did not have the felt backing.Re: Jayco roof / owner failureBeen there done that. Paid $4000 to have the roof replaced. PatRe: 2004 open road 5th wheel 357 rldsYou should be fine. I have found most parts are common among the different manufacturers. There may be some things that are proprietary. Appliances, lights, interior trim are all the same among different brands. Google RV parts and check the websites that sell RV parts and supplies. Good luck and enjoy your new home away from home. One suggestion. Since the trailer you bought has only been parked since it was first purchased, get the axel bearings repacked and checked out.Re: Post your tow vehicle pics hereTrust me...... It will live up to the hype. The one problem you will have is you will not be able to wipe the smile off your face the first time you tow with it. :) Congrats on the new ride.Re: ~Post your campsite photos here~Cherry Hill Camp Gound.
