Good choice :)Re: tow vehicleGears will likely make a good difference but there might be a few other easy-ish things to make more power too. Hopefully the spark plugs, wires, filters are good and fairly new. Chances are pretty good with the age and miles on the truck that the timing chain is worn out. As it stretches the cam timing r etards and that hurts low end power. GM engines of that era were also known to wear out cams quickly. If the engine ticks at all that could be the problem. If you replace the cam you could check with a company like Comp Cams for a recommendation. If you can find an old school hot rod shop they might be able to get you some more power with some tuning. Recurving the advance in the distributor and playing with the ignition timing can make a decent difference. If the air cleaner housing has the big oval inlet without a cool air hose going to the rad support you might try adding one of those. If the housing has the small round inlet you can add a second one to the other side for some extra air. Dual exhaust might be worthwhile too.Re: AirtabsThanks guys. They're not huge money so I might just try them.AirtabsHas anyone here tried Airtab vortex generators on their toy hauler? A couple weeks ago we were on a very dusty gravel road and with the big vacuum created at the back of the trailer it sucked dust in wherever it could. The cloud of dust behind the trailer was pretty huge. I'm wondering how much the Airtabs actually decrease the vacuum. I am also curious how much difference it would make in windy conditions or passing or being passed by other vehicles. The videos etc that I've seem make them sound awesome but we know that those aren't always exactly truthful ;)Re: TT Toyhaulers - What Else is Out ThereI recently bought a used Jayco Octane ZX T26Y and like it a lot so far. It has an Onan generator, 102 gal fresh, 35 gal grey and 48gal black tanks according to the specs.Re: Keystone Energy 235 FBThanks for the reply. From what I can tell those have different floor plans than the Energy. I'm looking for the cargo area length ... from the rear door to the bathroom wall. It seems that a lot of manufacturers sure don't do a good job of showing measurements that are probably important to most toy hauler buyers.Keystone Energy 235 FBDoes anyone here have a 2015ish Keystone Energy 235 FB? I'm just looking for a couple measurements. ThanksRe: Newer 21’ ModelsThis is on my wish list. Similar floor plan. No wood to rot. http://aluminumtoyhauler.com/models.htmlPacific Coachworks SandsportLooking at a 2013 Sandsport toy hauler 24FBSL model. Anyone have any experience with these? Google found only a couple reviews and they weren't good but of course we never hear about the good ones. I like that is has aluminum frame construction, the floor plan looks good for us and it has other good features.Re: Happy Jac Bed System Birdie1025 wrote: Looking at a 2007 weekend warrior FK2100 that has a manual pull down bed. Is it a DIY to install a happy jac bed system? Do you have to remove anything to install the power connections? Thanks We have an FK2100 and love it other than the bed. As we get older it gets to be a bit more of a pain to climb the ladder to get in and out of bed. Mirage Trailers ( http://www.mirageinc.com/happijac-power-bed-lift-w-optional-double-bunk ) was recommended and they do sell the Happi Jac. I was interested until I found out how much it would cost to get it to Canada. I looked into what it would take to install it and it looks like the walls would have to be opened up and some blocking added. Might or might not be a big deal. The electrical part of it would probably be easyish for me. I also looked into putting in a fold down bed, almost like a murphy bed, but haven't quite decided on that either. For now the ladder works but it's not ideal.
