All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: post pictures of your HTTI thought I had uploaded these months ago. Time flies when you're having fun. This is our July 4th '09 vacation. We were at the Ocean Waves CG at the Out Banks, NC. It's a small CG of about 60 or so RV sites. Much nicer than the mega CGs around the area. We were in site #68. It wasn't the most premium site, but, we were next to my friend who has been trying to get us down there for years. We were only a few hundred feet from the beach, it has a nice pool and most everyone were nice neighbors. The mosquitoes were worse than my friend had seen in years past, but, it was a wet spring/summer this year. The July 4th fireworks up and down the beach were better than what we normally see at home. It was a real nice vacation. I think we brought too much stuff. LOL We stopped at the NC Hammock Co. on the way home. Take a look at the plant to the left. That big bush looking thing is a fig tree. That has to be the biggest fig tree I ever saw. Re: Show your mods!!Last, but, not least, the entertainment center. Other mods seen here are much better looking jobs. I plan on a redo soon. The power and video cables will go through the closet walls when it's done. Replaced cheap standard Roo speakers with inexpensive Pyle speakers. Using a Viewsonic converter to utilize an extra computer LCD monitor laying around, I bought a wall mount and have a 15" TV screen to use when it rains or to check news and more importantly, the weather. And I velcroed the remotes for the TV and audio systems. The DVD is for movies and the audio for all the TV equipment is through the OEM audio system. I hope to replace it soon.Re: Show your mods!! BP88 wrote: va_jay55, Very cool indeed!! Love the antique tools, and love even more honoring our ancestors!! Thanks BP. I think about him when I look at that level. I wish I was as good at the woodworking and other things he did. He was amazing with wood. Here is another pic. Maybe not exactly a mod, but, they replaced the cheap caps that came on the wheels. The Yin-Yang stickers were my daughter's idea. Love it. Re: Show your mods!!Here is a level made in the 1930s that belonged to my Dad. This tool is part of my earliest memories. He always used it during all his building projects around our house while I was growing up. He was instrumental with helping us get this trailer before he passed away in '05, so, I thought it would be a nice tribute to have a place in the camper to carry it. I sometimes use it when setting up if the site is not very level. It is a beautiful piece. Re: Show your mods!!Here are my homemade wheel chocks. Re: Show your mods!!I moved the fire extinguisher to this location as it was mounted off the side of the oven box next to the door. It was getting hit when coming or going and we wanted to mount a pocket storage for shoes there. Shoe caddy next to the door. Fire extinguisher was mounted here. Re: Show your mods!!Here are pics of my battery box mod. I used a $35 tool/storage box from Lowes designed for the back of an SUV. It's bolted to the same plate as the original box. I had to move the propane tank mounting back a couple of inches to get it in behind the tongue jack. When these interstate batts wear out, I'll replace them with the 6 volt variety. I added the switch in case I need to disconnect the batts. The extra space in the box is used to store the wood for jack stand pads, tie-down bungies, the tongue jack foot, gloves, rope, etc. Edit for SPELL CHECK :SRe: ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS _ NEW DOMETIC RECALLWe had ours done last week at the local KOA just south of Charlottesville, Va. The RV tech is a summer resident of the CG. He and is wife took care of it. He installed the shielding and she did the paperwork. Very professional. It took him less than 15 minutes to install the shield. The work is done from the outside. The CG is a nice place. Reasonable rates. Clean and well maintained pool. And worth the $$$ since the RV tech will charge $40 to come to you around the C-ville area. It gave us a good reason to go camping. If you live around the Charlottesville area, this may be a good place to get the recall work done.Re: post pictures of your HTTHere are pics from last weekend at the local Charlottesville KOA. We decided to do this since the Dometic fridge needed recall work and they had a summer resident tech able to perform the work. They said if he had to come to us, it he would have to charge $40 for the trip. Since the rates at the KOA were $35 per night it seemed like another good chance to get in a weekend out. The site wasn't the most beautiful site we've ever been on, but, it was as level as we've seen. Nice surroundings. Lots of trees. Had a bunch of serious party folks across from us and we had a great time with them. The CG a had a clean and well maintained pool, so, we had a kewl place to cool off. Bath house was spotless. CG folks were professional. We'll go back again. Some new tacky lights a friend gave us before we left. Parrots. LOL Re: post pictures of your HTTI'm a month behind on posting these, but, here are some pics from our weekend up at Big Meadows in the Shenandoah National Park in Va. We had absolutely perfect weather. We saw a lot of wildlife including Momma bear and her kids. Very exciting.
