One would think it would run rich but it doesn't seem to bother it.Re: Colorado Springs area camping with OHV trails etc? Some of us ride year around, when the snow gets deep enough I use my paddles and auger in deeper. West of you is Woodland Park, north to Rainbow falls. West to Divide then north is the 717 trail system, which you can also get to from Woodland Park. West past Lake George just before the top of Wilkerson pass is Round Mtn. West over by Bueana Vista is the Four Mile riding area. Further west over Cottonwood pass is Taylor Park you can spend days over there and not cover it all. North about due west of Castle Rock is Rampart Range. Those are the closest trail systems to your location. Other than that it depends on what you consider close, most anything is going to be about 2 to 5 hour drive. West on I-70 by George town, further west is Flat Tops, keep going is Grand Junction. Up by Winter Park, / Frasier, Grand Lake is fun place. West of Ft Collins is Gould, Red Feathers Lake. Just stay out of the Land of No Use Wilderness areas. Make sure you get your ATV registered if not it can get a little pricey if you get stopped. If you have them the Arizona plates are not recognized in Colorado.Re: New to ColoradoYou've not lived here long enough, you will soon find Colorado has many quiet out of the way places. We have never stayed in a CG, we don't always get the spot we want but just travel down the road a bit set up in the next spot. There are many places west of Co Springs, north of Woodland Park / Divide, Buena Vista, Winter Park, Grand Lake, Grand Junction, Ft Collins. Colorado is very open to dispersed camping. The only places you can't go is the Wilderness (Land of No Use) areas.Re: 3/4 ton pulling fifth wheelOur old 1960 International grain truck was a double clutcher with a 2 speed axle. It was actually easier once under way to not use the clutch but just feather the throttle and slide the gears right through.Re: Sway/Reece dual cam issue with a F250I agree with Ron your support arms are at a very steep angle I think this is causing part of your problem in getting it set up, you're pulling almost straight into the support arm and not into the spring arm. I had the dual cam setup for a couple of years but kept twisting the support arm only on the drivers side. My dual cam used the trunnion style bars with a different style hitch head of course. Trunnion bars mount up a little higher on the hitch head and would take some of the angle out of the support bars. Reese could never figure out why mine kept bending so I shelved the system and went with Reese's Pro system, since then I have never had another problem. The Pro system uses a straight solid bar that rides in a saddle that is lined with brake material similar to the Equalizer system.Re: Boondocking locations near Colorado SpringsNorth out Woodland Park Rainbow Falls. Many places off to west north of Woodland / north of Divide, Cedar Mtn. Round mountain. Four Mile area by Buena Vista. Keep in mind that all of these areas are motorcycle / ATV / jeep trail heads.Re: Grand Canyon cell phone reception Lauren wrote: You can get out with Verizon in certain VC areas of the G C South Rim but, obviously, nothing IN the Grand Canyon! :-) Thats not exactly true. We hiked out from Bright Angle camp ground to the river overlook to watch the sunset, we had Verizon service out there.Re: Getting Rid of my Dual Cam systemI quit using my dual cam system after bending to of large friction cam knuckles during off camber turns. I went with the Reese SC WD system from Etrailer.com Its made similar to the Equalizer system but has friction pads under the WD bars for sway control. I haven't bent or broken any parts since changing to this system. Its easy to hook up, adjustment was easy and the friction control seems to be on par with the dual cam system. The SC system also doesn't hang but about two inches below the frame rails so ground clearance isn't a problem.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012I built the three legged one it is really easy to level it with only three legs. I mounted a cheap compass on it to locate north with then level it and you should be fairly close. I also have everything marked so when I put the dish on it it's close. Every now and then I have set it on the ground and had the bird right on. These are not wind proof but they are wind resistant. I had it blow over once, but then I thought the camper was going over that day also. If its that windy just lay a rock or something heavy on it and becomes wind proof unlike a tripod that will blow over anyway. SoLoved77 wrote: RollingRockTX wrote: Our sat set up. How does that sat. setup work? Do you just put it flat on the ground or do you attach it to the trailer?? We just got sat. to go camping with. Swore we'd never have it since the DH works for the cable company and gets a deep discount. We wanted to take the dish off the side of the house and take it with us since we will NEVER use it at home. Is this feasible?
