Our cell signal is good enough for phone calls but not great for streaming. I ordered starlink in February last year and it finally arrived a week ago. We got it installed the same day and could not be happier. Last Saturday I was able to cancel the lousy Viasat internet and Directv. We are now using youtubeTV. Our bills for internet and TV went from $385 to $165 a month. Don't know if I would use starlink for our trips because it really needs a clear northern sky and most of our campsites are in the woods but for our house it was a game changer.Re: Do you always have to pay inside at Truck stops?RVers can apply for EFS fuel card.Re: Best generatorour honda 3000 is 15 years old and used extensively each year with zero problems. our camping friends are now on their third generator but for some reason still cannot justify the cost of the honda.Re: Quiet heater that doesn’t drain batteries ?we use a Olympian Wave Heater when boondocking. we plumbed it in at the stove with a "T" and it works great. these are made to use indoors and are perfectly safe if installed and used correctly.Re: Times Up, Told You So, DirecTV is DeadNo kidding...we live in Bedford County VA and have Directv and Viasat Internet. Why? Because that's all there is. The closest cell tower to me is 15 miles. I'm lucky if I can stream sirius radio from my phone when I'm outside working. Satellites aren't going anywhere. Our country has invested nothing in ensuring rural areas can be provided reliable internet. BTW, I pay out the a** for satellite service.Re: Cracked frame Heartland/Lippert - Warranty but no help! Posted By: bedpan on 08/28/20 08:54pm Very good information.. And to be fair I have not talked to Lippert.. How does this cracking compare to yours if you don't mind me asking? Covid is throwing a wrench into things for sure. It just seems that no one is jumping up to help. In my mind I have warranty. I brought it to the dealer I bought it from. Things should be taken care of from there.. ours was in the same place. you could see daylight which is how I noticed the problem. Lippert was pretty good to deal with. The camper was in the shop a couple of days after we got home.Re: Cracked frame Heartland/Lippert - Warranty but no help!I don't know if this will help you but we had a cracked lippert frame on a coachman trailer that we noticed while on the road. I contacted lippert and they paid for spot welding to get us home. once there, they found a local metal shop and overnighted the specs and instructions for the shop to perform. sent us in the mail an official new three year warrenty on the welded frame. this was awhile ago, but they were really good to work with under that stressful situation.Re: InsuranceFirst off, we paid cash for our camper. Secondly, when sitting at your house, the homeowners policy covers any damage like storm or tree falling on it. When hooked up to your truck moving down the road, your car insurance covers it. The insurance for the camper is for when it is sitting at a campground or perhaps water damage from defective material. This was all discussed with the insurance company this morning. Therefore not needed since it will just be in our yard for the next six months.InsuranceDon't know if this applies to anyone else but since we have put all trips on hold until possibly the fall and our camper is parked on our property, I cancelled the insurance policy on the camper. I will initiate a new one once we get to travel again. Our policy was good through 31 August so we are getting a reimbursement.Re: Rheumatoid Arthritis. My husband has RA. Unfortunatly, he developed side effects from every medicine that the doctor has tried. Right now he is not taking anything but after the first of the year, has started working out three days a week at the local YMCA and is feeling better than he has in years. The goal is to improve muscle strength to take the load off the joints. MODERATOR'S EDIT: Sorry to close a good thread, but CBD spammers were taking over.
