I use a folding sun screen for the front window and then for the other windows I took card board and traced out the window then lined it with tin foil to reflect the sun. On a hot summers day it's nice and cool inside the truck where you could sit in it and be comfortable. When at home parked on the garage I have the whole truck cover. Our truck is only for towing as well. I like the cardboard/foil idea and a previous suggestion about getting a car cover and just covering the whole cab. Not sure I'd want to cover the whole truck just from an inconvenience stand point.Re: Off the wall question rjf7g wrote: Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/icescreen-Magnetic-Windshield-Cover-X-Large/dp/B00PKJQXFM This is what I'm referring to... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Adco-2407-Windshield-and-Window-Cover-for-Ford-350-450-RVs-with-Mirror-Cutouts-/141461161056?hash=item20efbe0460:g:eAkAAOSwcF9UWixx&vxp=mtr It covers both driver & passenger door windows also then folds nicely for storing. I thought maybe someone here would have already tried so that's why I'm asking about fitmentOff the wall questionI recently switched from a c class rv to a 5'er. My C class had a windshield cover by ADCO that went on the outside and covered driver & passenger door windows as well as the front windshield. My 5'er TV is dedicated, so when not towing/camping it sits in wait. I thought about buying one of those windshield covers but I've only found them for "C class" vehicles. (and A class) Has anyone tried using one for their truck ?? BTW I have a 2001 F-350 Thanks in advance.Re: Ford or Dodge ?I know we are all partial and somewhat loyal to our respective mfr's and all three have their quirks in specific years and models. There is a lot of good info coming from this thread, but I didn't realize I was going to start a pissing match. Kinda entertaining though, lol. Thanks to all who participating.Re: Ford or Dodge ? Ford implemented DEF in 2011 Ram implemented DEF in 2013 (excluding CC models). Can someone kindly explain this theory - I have an '08 CD and no DEF and I am not quite sure what the fluid does - assuming it add's a higher burn in the DPF? The DEF is a system that cleans the DPF in order to avoid clogging the exhaust which will in turn ruin a motor.Re: I don't want too, but I have too ...I don't have any 1st hand experience yet, but I like the Timbren system looks really simple and effective. This is just 1 of several informative videos regarding only powerstrokes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8o2LGuzl0goRe: AZ weatherIf you don't like the weather here right now, just wait a day or 2. ;-)Re: I don't want too, but I have too ... I do have to weigh to be exact on the truck weight loaded one kid my wife dog tools and fuel hitch aren't going to be more than 800-900lbs but I'll bet I'm within 100lbs .... the gawr id defiantly need the scale for but the trucks rated at 6084 so I'm gonna say even if the trailers max loaded I should def be under .... tires are rated 3415 so should be safe there .... haven't taken delivery yet so I knew I'd be close but now it's beginning to concern me we picked the wrong one !! I'm kinda in the same boat only I've already taken possession. My salvation is, right now I have full use of my brothers '99 7.3 F250. I'm within specs but kinda maxed out if you know what I mean. I'm in the market for a newer F-350 for myself to give me some wiggle room (peace of mind). BTW - as long as your within all your weight ratings, you should be fine as long as you don't drive like a yahoo, lol Good LuckRe: Ford or Dodge ?Thanks for everyone's input. I know the Cummins is probably the best diesel engine out there, but just the few negatives about the Dodge package around the motor tells me they haven't changed much. I've been a Ford enthusiast for 30+ years and looks like it's gunna stay that way !!
