Last year my wife was not in favor of my spending around $500 for Safe-T-Plus steering assist at a rally. But back in Aug we had a blowout going through Miami on a three lane road doing about 40 MPH. I was in the right lane with cars to my left and a curb to my right. The RF tire blew (sounded like a cannon going off) the MH just kept tracking straight with very little effort from me and I was able to pull into a turning lane before stopping and calling for assistance. Now the DW said next time she sees the salesmen that sold and installed the Safe-T-Plus, she will give him a hug and a thank you.Re: Tow Haul on Ford F53I also use it around town where there is a lot of stop and go, lights every 100 yards going through a city. You don't have to ride the brake as the tranny will slow you down.Re: RV vs Truck tires.Today I was quote $350 out the door mounted and balanced for Hankook AH 11, 245-70-19.5. From GCR tires in Ocala, Fl. I also had a blowout on route 1in S Miami on the 24th of Aug. the inside side wall blew on the passenger front tire. Thank goodness for Safety-Plus steering assist kept me going strait and no additional damage. The Goodyears were dated 0510 with 17,000 miles on them. So I' m switching the front for now and if the rear ones will last I will change them next spring.Re: Replacing dinning tables and chairsJoe do you have pix of breakfast bar? I'm getting rid of my booth and bar sounds interesting.Re: Motion sensing porch lights noticeGot my replacements today.Re: RV Water SoftenerWhich goes first? The filters or the softener? Thanks.Re: Coach Road NoiseThank you Martin. I already did the dog house cover. I'll have to check the other areas.Re: Coach Road Noise timmac wrote: prism wrote: freestoneangler wrote: I'd like to hear from those on the forum who have owned both DP's and gas coaches and how much difference their is in noise level while on the road. Certainly makes sense that having a rear engine would be quieter, but are gas engines really annoying...particularly when going uphill under load? Thanks, Bill To directly answer your question.YES without doubt Gas front engine A are noisy when going uphill under load. The new ones not near as bad as old ones but still pretty noisy. (screamy) BUT a new diesel pusher even a "entry grade" is 200K+ and a gasser is like 100K or less I have not priced one out in last couple years With the thousands you can save with a gas motorhome you can have someone or yourself to sound proof the front area, this is what I did and my noise level is half of what it was, buying a diesel just for a quite ride seems like a waste of money unless your rich. r What did you do to sound proof the front end of your gasser? I have some road noise that I would like to lower a bit. The engine is quite enough unless you get on it to go up hills or pass.Re: SiriusXM Vehicle Tuner antenna installationIs that the prewired CB antenna? I just ordered my XM radio should get it next week. If the CB antenna works I,ll use the one on my rig since I don,t have a CB.Re: Water in Air Box Wet Air FilterI extended the intake hose about 30" to the corner behind the wall in front of the passenger side taking it away from the direct flow of water coming through the hood area. I am also thinking of replacing the filter with a K&N type filter to compensate for the loner intake hose. I don't know if it will work but it's worth a try.
