Take a trip to Louisville if you have time, we toured the Louisville Slugger Museum, walk around and enjoy the shops etc. Oh and a great barbecue joint which is less than a 1/2 mile from the Cave Country campground is Bucky B's holy cow their food was amazing we went back several times lolRe: Watkins Glen October 2019Thank you everyone! Appreciate your input, can't wait to make our reservations SueWatkins Glen October 2019Good Morning All, We are planning our first trip to Watkins Glen and hoping to get some input from those of you that have been there. Pros and cons as well as any favorite electric sites you may have. We have a Rockwood Roo 23IKSS and know it will be chilly but hope to make it there either the last week of Sept or first week of October (they close Oct 8th this year) Planning to camp there for 5-7 days so anything we should check in the area, we love to explore around outside of the parks as well. We will also have our dog Lucky with us! Thanking you in advance, stay safe and dry with this crazy weather coming our way on the East Coast. SueRe: Kentucky CampgroundsWe took a trip to Kentucky in May from Maryland and stayed at Cave Country Rv Campground which is right off the interstate. Probably the cleanest campground we have ever stayed at and everyone was so friendly. All pull thru sites with full hookup and very inexpensive, perfect place for heading out to various destinations like Mammoth Cave National Park which was awesome! If interested in tours go online and reserve ahead of time. Great little barbecue joint called Bucky B's very close to the campground as well. We took a day trip to Louisville and toured the Louisville Slugger factory which was awesome if you like baseball and you get a souvenir bat at the end of the tour.Re: Water Filter IssuesThanks everyone, we were using the water out of our tank (stayed at a non water site) so it wasn't the water pressure coming from the hookup itself. It screws on pretty big in size made out of plastic and was on quite tight with plastic ridges around the housing that holds the filter itself if that makes sense to you in layman terms lol The filter itself was just put on this season so only on for 10 days of camping so far don't think that's the problem.Water Filter IssuesOk so we were camping this weekend in our Rockwood Roo when suddenly we heard a loud bang and water rushing in the middle of the night. Immediately turned off the water pump opened up the back of the camper where the pump and filter are located to find that the filter had disconnected itself and water was everywhere! Cleaned it up, reconnected the filter tightly and thought we had it figured out. Well it happened again several times during the weekend with the water pump on and with the water pump off. It literally twisted itself off when the water was running or the pump was on. CRAZY stuff felt like the camper was haunted! Any ideas, the filter isn't cracked, fits properly and we have never had this happen before! Appreciate any input you can offer, we ended up not being able to use our water and this is just the beginning of our camping season. Eagerly awaiting our camping season, already have lots of reservations in !!!! Sue :)Re: Do you turn off your refrigerator? Thanks so much, appreciate your responses! Happy camping :)Do you turn off your refrigerator?Good Evening All... As long as we have been camping we had not heard that this was something we should do until this evening when a friend mentioned it to us. We keep our hybrid plugged in out in our driveway and use our fridge for extra food storage. He said that this can really affect the life of long term life of the fridge. We had no idea, been doing this for 3 years now from April-early Nov. Anyone have any knowledge of this, appreciate your input! Thanks, Sue
