Does that mean you have only one site or do you have several volunteer sites with only one available. This sounds quite interesting and up our alley. We are committed through October but may strongly consider it after that. ThanksRe: Cape Cod Canal positions nancyjerry wrote: We have worked here the last 2 years and are going back this year. They say they don't get enough applicants, so thought I would post this. If you like fishing, biking/walking trails on the water, boats and great weather, maybe you should contact Corps of Engineers at Cape Cod Canal. You bid on the job, so you are paid, and get free full hook up site. Enjoy. Nancy Always wanted to visit Cape Cod and wouldn't mind working. We have done work for COE before. Can you give us an idea of what the job entails and hours expected.Re: Volunteer.gov down?I was having the same problem on my iPhone. Rebooted it and started working. Just sayin...Volunteer.gov down?Haven't been able to log on for a couple of days. Anybody else ?Re: Snowbirds - Work Camping Couple Needed in Florida asap-AprOk, I don't understand why my reply was deleted. It was favorable to the OP and only stated that we had a position already and we would keep it in mind. I have read and reread the rules and cannot see that I said anything wrong. Can you clarify for me. Even in a private message if desired.Re: Immediate opening with Resource Management in Ocala, FLWow, thanks for the heads up Bob.Re: Many of us have run into this when volunteeringThanks for the come back.Re: Many of us have run into this when volunteeringI won't ask what park this is. But since it's a state park what state is it in?Re: Stanislaus River COE hostWe have hosted at StanislUs 3 different times. They have 4 different hosting spots on the river. Your experience will depend on where you are and when you go. Winter season is very kick back at all 4 parks, with light visitation and not much to do. They say they ask you for 40 hours but in reality you'll have something to do about 10 hours. Basically you provide a 'presence' in the park. They have gates thT are supposed to open Automaticaly in the morning 6am and you just have to make sure they open. You can do that at a couple of the parks by listening from your rig! You have to manually close and lock the gates at dusk. These are day use parks only. Heather is a great ranger to work for and you have lots of autonomy, there are days you will not see a ranger. During the summer it's a different ball game. These parks are quite busy and are popular spots for putting in and taking out river rafters. The parks will fill up and you will have to control traffic as well as keep things clean. They have special contracted crews that clean the rest rooms and do the landscaping, you just need to keep things neat. It can get hectic in the summer. The winters rarely get below freezing but the summers can get hot. Do you know which park you will be at. We envy you. Heather fills her spots early.Re: Upper Peninsula, MI workamper couple wantedNice, clean looking place
