X2 X3 I'm very happy with my B&W hitch, and have been for the past 11 years. I like the fact that they are totally American made. Needed new U bolts (my fault) they sent me new ones no charge. Actually talked to a real human English speaking person on the phone. Customer service A+++. You're going to need new u-bolts about every 7-8 times you remove your hitch. Those d@mn nylock nuts eventually bind up and you have to just twist them off. (Be sure you have a breaker bar handy!) I've got 2 sets of new bolts on the shelf, but I keep any old ones I feel I could get 1 or 2 more uses out of. Frankly, I should just toss the old nylock nuts and buy new ones and that would give me another 2 sets of u-bolts. :-) Lyle Wait What? You should almost never "need" new u-bolts. Nylocks on the other hand are a one time use item that people reuse with good results all the time.Re: LED Lights for exterior flood lights??That's not a link....but THIS isRe: tie down hooksDepends on what you tie down and how..........Re: TH with garage slidesIt could be done...just not giving the idea away for free. I don't believe there is such a thing a a high quality, mass produced toy hauler or RV for that matter. Those two terms are mutually exclusive. I understand your feelings, but certainly one or more brands have to shine next to their competitors. Right? No, not really. Why would you think that? one might be better at one thing while the other sells on something different.Re: Amped 28FS Sway Issues when towing....need help! big buford wrote: Air bags should be used to help control the bounce (up and down) while traveling down the road. Start at 20 psi and add 5 psi until you get a ride that feels good. I respect your opinion (usually) but this statement has me very confused as it goes against everything I know about suspension, which I admit isn't all that much. Please explain as my thoughts are the shocks are the only thing that controls the bounce. The bags carry the load.Re: Trailer behind a TH? timmac wrote: Winged One wrote: timmac wrote: sin cal sd wrote: nevadanick wrote: I have a email saved from CHP that says i am legal towing two bumper pulls. Need Class A with doubles/triples endorsement and cannot exceed 65ft. I am not going to try and decipher Ca code which is why i asked CHP. Thats odd. Ive asked multiple CHP officers from a few different districts and not 1 said it is legal because of the way the codes are written. I even asked our neighbor who is a city cop and he claims there isnt a VC thats says its illegal. Nevadnick is right, you cannot pull double trailers in Cali without commercial licenses, you can do it in Nevada as long as your under 65 foot and under 26,001 lbs gross weight. You can in California if you are from out of State and you are legal in your own State. Just to clarify. No that's not true, just cause your state says its OK is not OK in another state, if so than all people from Colorado can bring their weed to other states.. However the post above did show this >> In summary, nonresidents may tow two trailers with a non-commercial license IF their base state allows it. IF the vehicle is commercial, the driver would also need a valid medical certificate per 12502 CVC. But note it says the if vehicle is commercial and RV's are not.. You need a reading comprehension class... It says "IF the vehicle is commercial, the driver would also need a valid medical certificate per 12502 CVC."Re: Cyclone vs Vengeance (long) HaulinBass02 wrote: That may be true but their intent is to have a hauler to travel in when they are done there. This, like everything else in the gas and oil industry is temporary so they don't want to be tied down to anything at this point. Good plan...that whole area is going to go into shut down with these prices.Re: It is a BIG desert! FULLTIMEWANABE wrote: Can appreciate tenfold the issues about noise etc and respecting others and general reasonable space, but one of the biggest concerns for us about considering going full time was the feeling of being lonely and isolated all the time. Almost every forum says how friendly and welcoming other RVers are, and messages of welcome to the family and RVers are such a friendly bunch willing to chat with you and so on and so forth. Yet here I read about everyone concerned about people staying as far away from them as possible, staking out their own areas and to boot on "public" lands. Maybe I'm missing something here, but it doesn't portray the "friendly, helpful" bunch we've been led to believe until now. How hard is it to say Hi and casually educate folks nicely about general etiquette if they are so lacking in common-sense without making it sound as though RVers are becoming the most unfriendliest grumpy folks around. I'm curious, what is the "acceptable" distance on "public" lands from the next RVer radius wise of someone that's noise cognizant of others around them? Hard to compare "Park" camping with "desert" camping....Not even close.
