Made it over Top of the World Highway just fine in a car and a pickup camper. It was dusty,bumpy, rough, a little rain but still very beautiful. Glad we did it. My question is, why is the Canadian side so much better to drive on then the U.S. side. Except for the 12 miles of very nice new black top on the U.S. side.302Views0likes0CommentsTop of World Highway
Plan on doing this on or about Monday the 10th. Checking weather conditions both in Alaska & Canada. Who has driven this road lately? Going from Tok to Chicken to Dawson City. Average time to drive, we are the type who are in no hurry to get there. Doing this trip right now. In Wrangell at a B&B. Left P.R, Did Ketchikan. Looking forward to Sitka. Sorry we can no longer do the RV lifestyle but still follow RV.Net for all of the wonderful & informative info we get. The best thing about Mount Rushmore if they still do it, and they probably do is the Flag lowering ceremony at night. All veterans are invited down to participate. The last time we were there one of the Park Rangers recited all stanzas of the Star Spangled Banner. It is very emotional to see. So there are things that are worth seeing and doing besides stopping for a half hour and take a couple of pictures.197Views0likes0Comments
