I am in a similar position in terms of weights and ratings and will be getting a new truck next year. This one will be legal but a little more cushion where I don't have to sweat how I load will be better. Good luck!Re: coupler heightThey are all different. My Outdoors RV is about 30 inches.Re: Rockerball trailer hitch -- has anyone tried it?I don't think it is compatible with a weight distributing hitch since they use pressure between the ball and barsRe: Black tank release cableGet metal pull rods and keep the valve itself lubed. Often if you do not use the black tank flush you will get TP or other stuff pushed into the valve seat by the knife blade and that may be what is causing the stiffness at times.Re: Triangle Trailer tires?Commercial trucks do not scrub their tires nearly as often when turning tight like trailers do. Not really a fair comparison. I would be leary of an unknown brand purchased to sit on the sales lot.Re: water inlet with check valveThe Camco filters are 20 micron filters. A 5 micron whole house filter after that one would be good choice. If you get a two stage whole house filter you can put a large carbon block in the second chamber for superior taste. The 20 micron filters are great for a pre-filter which will help the longevity of the whole house filters.Re: Does this hitch actually do weight distribution? If your tongue weight is close to the rating of the bars as mine is you will still need to use the tool to get the bars on the perches with the jack lifting the rear of the truck. If not then the hitch is not adjusted tight enough and needs another washer. The instructions talk about measuring the front fender height and attempting to get the weight restored to the front by that measurement but my measurements were only 1/4 inch different. Went to a CAT scale and was able to adjust it so that it actually restored 380 pounds of the 400 pounds the trailer removed from the front axle. Rides so much better now, better with the trailer than without. Took 2 more washers than doing it with fender height adjustment. Also, use the optional pads Equalizer sells for the bar perches. They make the hitch dead silent, no more popping and creaking. The hitch will take 50 to 100 highway miles to wear the paint off the bars before the sway control is really effective. Same when you add the pads to the perches.Re: MaxAir addedThe air sticking to the flat rear of the vent is what creates drag/wind resistance. A model A ford is much more aerodynamic in reverse than going forward.Re: Towing a 2640lb 16ft TT with a Ford Ranger 4.0L?You will not like living in that, even for a few months. Tin and thin paneling with no insulation will not be warm in the winter or cool in the summer. I hope it works out for you. As for towing, the wind resistance is far more demanding than the weight. It will be working very hard to pull that through the air. Also, single axle trailers tend to move and sway more than double axles, the extra axle makes them want to track in a straight line better. Just means you will need to keep the speed down and pay more attention. Watch how you load it to keep the tongue weight high.Re: Yellow window frame on door. Ugly. What to do?You do know they make clear replacements with internal privacy blinds, right? https://www.amazon.com/AP-Products-015-201512-Upgrading-Window/dp/B01MRRNQNP/ref=sr_1_4?crid=23NL92Y7LCDHO&keywords=rv+door+window+with+built-in+shade&qid=1577754281&sprefix=rv+door+window%2Caps%2C353&sr=8-4
