I have even cycled slides in and out numerous times to ensure no air in system.Slide out won't close all the wayEarlier this year I had a problem with the front slide on my 5th wheeler. It is a 2009 Sierra by Forest River 335QBQ. The bedroom slide on the 5th wheeler end would close and after time drift open. Now it won't close or open all the way. It's about 2-3" from opening all the way and 1 1/2" to 2" from closing completely. The only thing that moves this slide is a hydraulic cylinder. The nots on the ram are tight and there is no way they have moved causing this issue. My thoughts is it HAS to be the cylinder leaking internally. There is no leak external. This model does not allow you to move each slide indepentent of each other. As one extends all the way the others start to move. Does this sound like a cylinder issue? The other slides work fine. Thanks for your repliesRe: Slide out drifts open ChuckSteed wrote: Hyd slide out creeping out when closed is caused by 1. Air in system. Cycle slides in and out 3 to 5 times to purge air 2. Internal or external leak on slide actuator 3. Hydac solenoid valve .. only one for hyd slides nit fully closed in manual override mode CW) or sticking valve DO NOT use a bar or anything else to keep hyd slides closed .. 2000 psi is used to keep slides closed or open and if leak is internal on actuator your can tear up your slide by locking in place Thanks for your reply. I'll try purging air out this weekend. I know it's not an external leak on cylinder because no sign of fluid anywhere. Could be an internal leak. I'll see what happens after I cycle the slides in and out a few times.Re: Slide out drifts openWhere is the check valve? In the pump?Re: Slide out drifts open BurbMan wrote: Sounds like a hydraulic check valve is letting fluid seep by and allowing the slide to extend. The quick fix is to get a pair of these locking poles to keep the slide closed. Our last Terry came from the factory with these poles to take the pressure off the mechanism keeping the slide closed when going down the road. Just have to remember to remove them prior to opening the slide. Are you saying the residual pressure is causing it to move? Seems like the pressure would equalize at some point and movement would stop. I agree locking poles, Pogo sticks or some other type of pole will stop movement. it did not do this when we first bought it. The rear slide (2) is a bunkhouse so there is no way to get back there once slides are pulled in. I've never had any trouble with it moving while traveling.Slide out drifts openI have a 2009 Sierra by Forest River 335QBQ. It has 4 slides. The slide out on the fifth wheel end (bedroom) drifts open while the camper is just sitting there. It is connected to power. The slide outs do not work independent of each other. As one reaches it's final position the next starts to move. It's not like a could block a valve to the affected slide and stop it. Any ideas???? ThanksRe: Campground in Wilmington NCKOA was my first choice but unfortunately everyone else picked it. No openings. Any ideas within 20-25 miles?Campground in Wilmington NCLooking for a nice campground for a 4 night stop in Wilmington NC. My daughter is running a 1/2 Ironman Triathlon there in mid Oct. Any suggestions??? ThanksLouisiana to Hershey, Pa. Which Route????I will be heading to Hershey, PA. the first week of Oct. Looking at Goggle Maps it has me going I-81. I'm sure it's good road just not sure how much if any of the mountains I will encounter. Pulling a 38' camper through mountains does not appeal to me. Don't mind some but not a bunch of up and down and switchbacks. Any one travel this way and have ideas or suggestions? Also looking for a couple of overnight stops about 450-500 from La and then another 375-425 from there before getting to Hershey. Thanks for any and all suggestions ToddDelamination on '09 SierraI have some delamination on the rear of my 2009 Sierra by Forest River. I have seen videos on injecting epoxy and clamping to remove bubbles. I'm not sure how well that would work on mine. What would I need to use to replace the entire back panel of camper? Should I use the Filon sheet? I repaired the leak that caused this just trying to decide which route to go to fix bubbles. Any ideas, suggestions??? Thanks for your help
