Braking in bursts to dump speed was a great suggestion. We kept it under 55 and a few times had to lock it in 3rd gear. It was actually quite enjoyable and easier than I originally was stressing out about.Re: Fixing a leak in my compression fittingThanks for the responses. Shark bite did not work with my Qest pipes...Apparently shark bites need pressure for them to be sealed so when I turn of the water pump water was dripping from where the pipe was inserted. I had to buy Qest fitting with the crimp and pincher to get this connected. It is somewhat fixed cos I still have some water oozing very very mildly between the nut and the crimp. I am going to just seal it with rescue tape. Here's a picture of the fix. http://www.flickr.com/photos/84864561@N08/9250490301/Fixing a leak in my compression fittingHi, I have a leak in my compression fitting. The leak is between the crimp and the nut...right where the nut is attached to the tube. How can I repair this leak? I cannot seem to remove the crimp. Here's the picture http://www.flickr.com/photos/84864561@N08/9249952544/ Do I have to use the same type of fitting? or are there easier pex type compression fitting or more newer fittings in the market that I can replace it with? Can I get parts for this from any hardware store? Thanks!Re: Leak detection in holding tankThanks for the responses. Found out the leak is from the top of the inlet fitting....picture below. Where the white silicone seal is.. http://flic.kr/p/f5B5Sy Camper world suggested scraping the old seal and applying new silicone...going to try that.Re: Need advise towing I-70 West going from Denver to Vail jpetrey wrote: davestar wrote: Hi, This is my 2nd trip with my camper trailer and would like to hear advise or experiences towing a camper on I-70. I am towing the camper with a Nissan Titan V8 with a Tekonsha P3 brake controller set at 7.0 I've driven that route many times on my car and I know the speed limit varies with a max of 65 mph. what is the recommended speed or advised speed for towing a camper that size on some of those 6% grade down slopes for a distance of over 8 miles? Should I take frequent pit stops to cool the brakes and engine? Please help. Do you really need the fresh water tank to be completely full? I dont have to...are there places in vail where i could fill up water? We are camping in the white river national forest so i will need water.Re: Need advise towing I-70 West going from Denver to VailThanks, yes it does have the 'tow mode'.Need advise towing I-70 West going from Denver to VailHi, This is my 2nd trip with my camper trailer and would like to hear advise or experiences towing a camper on I-70. I looked at the tank which is right below my main bed and I can see water on the floor but I cannot tell where the leak source is. Fortunately, it was a 3 day trip and we had water till the last day morning of our trip. Could you please advise on what would be some ways to detect where the leak is originating? Thanks for any help.
