I'm looking at the subject model as a first time full time situation for myself. My primary RV Spot will be at my ranch. I plan on possible going south during winter. I'm retired at 47 so I might struggle to meet people my age in this lifestyle im assuming. I'd appreciate any insight any of you all can give me on the Montana. Part of me still thinks im crazy to do this lol. I think I'm gonna love it.Re: Montana 294RL for Single person fulltimingThanks for the info! It's where the fuses and breakers are that control the camperQuestion about Power Inverter issueHello so I've owned several different TTs and a 5th wheel so I'm pretty well educated on most of the functionality of different RVs. My cousin recently bought a used Keystone Springdale TT and the previous owner only used it for work camping on RV sites so he was running it without a battery. Once my cousin put a battery and we went dry camping the battery died and wouldnt charge with a generator and we noticed the 40 amp fuses in the inverter were burned out. My question is when someone doesn't use the battery does one have to run a wire from the inverter so it will charge? I never knew you could use an RV with no battery. I hope the PO didn't damage anything by not running a battery. Thanks for any input.Re: Loose Leaky ToiletThanks for the input guys. I will remove the toilet this evening and take a look. I'm suspecting that yes they might've used a wax seal and I'm guessing the flange is busted because it seems like the wood screwed it in lol. Can the flange itself be replaced fairly easily without removing the black tank if need be?Loose Leaky ToiletSo last fall I purchased a 1997 Wanderer 24ft Travel Trailer for a screaming deal. The only thing wrong with it is the toilet is loose/wobbly and leaking where it mounts to the floor. I don't think it even has the right bolts. I'm thinking when the Previous owner did some work to the floor he didn't mount the toilet right plus he used the wrong bolts. Will I be able to find the bolts and nuts or will I have to replace the entire flange? Any help is appreciated.Re: Puerto Penasco questions for first timersThanks so much Mexicouss!!!Re: Puerto Penasco questions for first timersHow far is the drive from the border? So im assuming our passports are sufficient? Is full coverage mexico insurance available? Insurance wise im more concerned about my truck being jacked. Lol Thanks!Puerto Penasco questions for first timersSo im exploring the idea of a nice rv vacation down in PP, Mx. So how much is typical to insure a newer 2014 high end diesel truck and older 5er rv? How are the roads down there once you get into mx? What special permits are required? Is it safe? Is it hard navigating around town trying to get your rig into the rv parks once youre there? Im seeing rvpark prices around $30 and if fuel prices hold i could likely do a pretty cheap vacation. Any thoughts tips and info are greatly appreciated?
