All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Queen bed in place of current KingWe changed our RV king to a residential good quality queen and we love it. If you can be happy with a queen you'll be pleased with the extra walk around space. I took apart an antique vanity we had and installed the 2 ends as nightstands. The 4 extra drawers of storage are nice since we live fulltime in our trailer. BrianRe: Inverter- should I?I also have a 2500 watt inverter that's wired as a whole house inverter. Trojan and Interstate both make 12v golf car batteries and I use three of those for a total of about 450 amp hours. The combo works great and I do have a TriMetric battery monitor. You will most likely need a way to charge if you use the inverter much at all. I don't have a generator but I do have 3 215 watt solar panels for 645 watts and a 60 amp solar charger/controller. It's nice to have but it's a pricey setup. BrianRe: 1000 questions !!!There have been many different answers to this post and a lot of different advice and suggestions. We have been fulltiming for 2 years and love it. Everyone does it differently and there is really no right or wrong way in my mind. We are younger than many fulltimers (39 and 44) and we have a "home" that many don't think would be a good fulltimer rig, but it works for us and we're not looking to "upgrade". We use the same 05 Dodge 3/4 ton and 07 34' Jayco Eagle we had when we still had our sticks and bricks home. One thing I can offer is to take care of what ever you decide on and make it your own. All rvs of any kind or brand have issues. I can agree with the debt free advice. To us, that is an absolute necessity. Like others have said, it depends on your reasoning. We became fulltimers to travel, simplify our lives, and chase dreams of what we really want to do with our lives. The great thing to us about this lifestyle is the ability to adapt into what ever we want or need.Re: Where do you spend your winters? We stayed in Fredericksburg Texas last winter. It was nice most of the time with a couple short lived cold fronts. This year were staying southeast of Lubbock Texas. There's been way too much winter for me but we're visiting and helping family here. We're headed to east Texas near Caddo Lake in a couple weeks then to the Texas Hill Country till mid April. We've talked about getting a New Mexico State Park pass. We love NM would like to spend a year discovering all the parks. We've been to a few in the past and really enjoyed our stay. Our favorite so far has been Villanueva State Park.
