The bottom line is that ALL of them are dependent on the local towing providers in the area that you find yourself in when you need the service. It's likely that if AAA couldn't find a local provider to service you, neither Coachnet nor any other ERS provider would have been any better. In our case, after the AAA wouldn't help us, they suggested a local firm which we called, and who did a great job getting us back on the road. So, the local provider was available and glad to help us. Of course we paid the local provider ourselves. So you need to find another excuse for AAA.Re: Experience With AAA RV Premium CoverageWe got our RV stuck on a dirt road when the earth gave way. We called AAA, and after several hours and multiple calls, they said that they were sorry but they couldn't help us. We found a company who sent out a service truck to get us out of the ditch and get us back on the road. We sent AAA the invoice for the service, and over the past few months we have they've told us three times that they were looking into it. We are still waiting.Re: Direct TVCall DirecTV (AT&T) customer service @ 800-531-5000. Just tell them that your setup was working, but now it doesn't and you've tried everything. Ask them to send out a technician to resolve the problem. I've had them come out to our RV in an RV park several times to take care of problems.Re: Trailer tire load ratingAlso, if you hit a pothole, especially at speed, there will be a greater load on the tires than the load just running on a level road. So it is best to have excess load bearing capacity just in case.Re: Finance RecomendationsWe took a different approach. When we decided to retire, we gave notice to our employers, Then my wife put our house for sale on the internet (she is a computer smart person - that was her job), and in two days someone came over to look and ended up buying our house. Shortly thereafter we put stuff in storage and gave it to charities and bought our RV - a two year old Class A using some of the money from the sale of our house. Since then, we've primarily been full timers with some breaks in the action with family etc. BTW, since we were selling the house on our own, we did not deal with any real estate people. My wife had legal service as part of her work and they put together the sales contract (one half of a page of paper), and managed the whole sale, deed transfer, etc. for less than $50 for the whole deal.Finding Doctor while travellingAny advice on how to find good doctors/Clinics/Hospitals/etc. while travelling far away from your home base?Re: Fuel Filters change ISC CumminsWhen I change the fuel filters, I use a threaded pipe plug in the center hole then pour oil into the outside holes. That way, the only oil that gets to the engine is oil that has passed through the filter material. We've been fulltimers since 2003, and when I change the filters, I just crank the engine and it fires up shortly. Never any problem. YMMVRe: Direct tv boxSee if you can find an independent local dealer that sells DirecTV. An independent will be glad to come and check out your RV setup and provide you with the options to consider and explain how it would all work and what it would cost. Perhaps DirecTV would do the same, but my experience is that independent dealers have more flexibility. And it probably wouldn't cost anything for a review.Re: Exterior window lock...We had a problem with the door lock once. Called AAA and they sent out a locksmith who was able to correct the problem. I never did understand what was going on.Re: CR-V towingWe have a 2011 CRV. We did run down the battery a couple of times towing so I bought a switch that has in insert between the power and the wires to the radio. I turn it off when going into tow mode, and it keeps the battery from running low. IIRC, it's a Roadmaster Fusemaster. It was something of a pain to install (I'm old and fat), but it works great. We've used it for years of full timing without ever having a dead battery.
