They fold inside so any debris, mud, water, snow or ice goes inside. They do make a mat to catch it all inside. Then there's the space issue can't open in parking spaces they hang over to the next spot. Try opening in a storage area with another right next to you, how do you load for travel without taking it from the storage? Our current trailer came with the Solid Step….I’ll agree with most of this and not sure I’d want one again. OP may be referring to the “accordion style” Torklift or similar though…those look like they might be better than solid step.Re: How to see grand canyon bgum wrote: South rim and stay in Trailer Village. Try for a reservation as soon as possible. Use the bus system within the park. This. If you miss the reservation for Trailer Village there’s a nice RV park not far outside the gates in Tusayan near a couple of restaurants and IMAX and you can catch the shuttle into the park if you want.Re: over fillingIf the process Charles suggested doesn’t work, you can pretty easily take the pump apart and flush it out and manually unstick the check valve. On my trailer it’s harder to access the pump than it is to take it apart.Re: Propane tank level monitorI have the mopeka and very pleased except for battery life. Seems like I’m always replacing the batteries. I don’t know if the new ones come with the rubber/plastic donut for the bottom of the can or not. Mine came with metal feet which were a pain…replaced with the donut and much happier.Re: Smaller Holding Tanks...What to do when NO hookups??Is that 30 each black and gray or combined? If it’s 30 each that’s comparable to what we have now and it’s doable. Gray is always our limiting factor. As others have said just be careful how much goes down the drain. If possible, can wash dishes in a basin and dump that outside if possible or down the toilet if you have separate black and gray. You could also use one of the portable totes for dumping gray assuming the campground has a dump station.Re: Mini Swamp Cooler (Arctic Air) - Legit?I’m sure it works, I just wouldn’t expect it to put out a lot of cool air. I’ve used large portable swamp coolers and they work well and move a lot of air.Re: Check in/out timing...I’ve had someone pull up and ask how long I’d be in the site before leaving...even though it was about an hour before checkout. Then proceeded to impatiently wait right there blocking traffic.Re: Check in/out timing... Lwiddis wrote: “As I was setting up the guy in the site next to us came over and said "you're early".” That guy needs something else to do. Sounds like he should have been getting himself ready to leave by checkout time.Re: Tires - for a truck...Just had my second set of Toyo ATs installed on my CTD. Very pleased with them. I think I saw white letters as an option on them but maybe not on all sizes or load ranges. Can’t remember...Re: Camping near water in AZRoper Lake in Safford has a nice campground. Not a huge lake but it’s nice.
