How can I upload it (I only see an option for a storage link)? Would you guys recommend a spray foam in the hole and then to cover it with wood filler? Can anyone recommend a type of Molly that has worked so I don't have to patch these and then create new holes?Re: Repairing holes in walls or mollys for tv mountThanks but I'd like to fix the holes not just cover themRepairing holes in walls or mollys for tv mountLong story short, I tried to locate studs in my bedroom wall using a stud finder so I could mount a TV. Turns out there's nothing but plywood and styrofoam in my walls. I now have two holes that I need to repair/conceal or use. Anyone used the plastic mollys that spread open to mount a TV(I've tried the kind that screw in but they just chew up the wood)? If I can't use these existing holes, any suggestions on how to repair or conceal the holes? I know wood filler would work but I was hoping for something more inconspicuous and less noticable. Thanks.Jayco Eagle HT vs Rockwood Signature QualityWe are looking to purchase a new fifth wheel. What are the thoughts of the Jayco HT's vs The Rockwood Signature series? I know Jayco has a 2 year warranty, however, what is everyone's experience with the build quality, trim work, customer service, etc.?Re: New 5th wheel purchase. If the windows are truly not square, as you state, then the framing isn't either I would assume. In this case the trailer is going to need major enough repairs that everyone involved would say it's probably easier for factory to buy it back. But are the Windows really out of square? Or is it trim that is out of place? An optical illusion maybe? Two windows are slightly off. We were told by the dealer that he can show us a 200K MH that has something probably just as similar. I'm not sure that something other than an eagle eye would've noticed in a walk around but as we notice more and more things, it has forced to go through everything with a fine tooth comb. Again, my reasoning for mentioning the things I mentioned was to show the overall build quality, and the unit as a whole.Re: New 5th wheel purchase. Some of us have to admit that we've made hasty decisions and missed items with regard to our RV's. I've been to two pushed PDI's where we were hassled and hurried. The first time, I missed items--the second, I took some time to actually check things out. Sorry, OP. I'm facing serious issues with a Lippert frame, and not sure what my options are at this point either. Thanks for the kind words. That's kind of how I feel with this forum at this point. I thought I would get lots of helpful advice instead of a bunch of "what were you thinkings". Again, thanks to all those that actually offered advice.Re: New 5th wheel purchase. I think we have a lemon, need adviceThanks to everyone who offered PRACTICAL help as opposed to the "why the heck did you take it" Monday Morning QB. Got to love those people. Update: We met with the store manager from the store we purchased it and he admitted that they dropped the ball with the PDI and are already addressing that (which in all honesty, doesn't change our problems one bit). He spent a good hour with us as we pointed out each issue and he admitted that the unit has many more issues than he usually sees. However, he asked that they be given the chance to correct all the mistakes and wasn't sure if this was an issue that has a lot of tweaks or someone was in a hurry on a Friday afternoon to rush out of the factory. He did mention that there may be a chance to get out of this but he has to go through it first. However, if this unit requires this amount of work to correct (even from factory trainer techs at a dealership), why should we have to accept this on a brand new unit? We avoided a used patched up unit for a reason, why should we accept it on a brand new unit? Anyone have experience in getting out of a unit for another one in a situation like this? Thanks again to all those with practical advice!Re: New 5th wheel purchase. I think we have a lemon, need advice bgum wrote: Gee wiz why did you ever take possession? Once again, with the exception of a few crooked screws (which were no big deal in itself) became issues AFTER we took ownership.Re: New 5th wheel purchase. I would recommend that you take it camping and use it the remainder of the summer and use everything in the unit. Check all of the slide wipes and everything that move to see if there is a potential problem. After you are through camping for the summer take it to the dealer with your list of issues. If it takes them all winter to fix it at least you won't lose any camping time with your family. As far as a lemon law and contacting a lawer you probably signed some papers in the process that says you can't sue but must go through an arbitration process. I read today that the RV industry set records this year on the number of new units sold. I assure you, you are not alone with quality issues. Just keep good notes and document every call you have with the dealer or Mfg. Good luck and don't give up. thats what they hope you will do. Thank you so much for the help. In your opinion, should we contact the manufacturer before we meet with our dealer and risk souring our relationship with them or would it be better now that I know that some/most of these problems should have been detected/corrected at the set-up (dealer) level?Re: New 5th wheel purchase. Having documented those items then and having them fixed would have solved a lot of questions later, and yes I know this is a "if your foresight was as good as your hindsight" type of question but you didnt say how detailed your walk through was. Yes, some of the issues like screws, the recyliner, were pointed out at the walk through. However, most of these problems were not able to be detected at the walk through. Really no way of knowing a black water plug doesn't work or a kitchen sink has a water leak at the dealer. The window was noticed afterward. One of the requirements that manufacturers have for dealers is that they are required to go through the unit and prep it and the dealer is required to spend a certain amout of time demonstrating all aspects of the unit to you. The dealer wantinng you to let them handle it all may be to hide that they are not fulfilling their requirements. Just a thought,,,,, Good luck Hmm... I'm starting to think that may be the case. Thanks for the info
