I know I need a cable on the outside From the rig to the campground hookup. What I need to know is what to do on the inside to be able to watch tv on the laptop. Many of the campgrounds we visit have full hookups with cable, but I know nothing about how to fix it so I can use my laptop instead of a tv. I saw one forum on C/Net that was kind of a cocky answer to this question that gave no useful info for a total non-tech person. I am n.o.t looking to pick up over-the-air channels, just using the cable, if it is possible. Or is this beyond this forum and I just need to contact Best Buy or something. ??Re: Roll Call Alaska 2015Thought I might mention two parks we stayed at, and one we did not. The Discovery Yukon good Sam park about 20 miles before Beaver Creek, Yukon was an interesting stay. Lots of collections on display throughout the park, of "stuff" including vehicles from the 1942 time. Main bldg was officers quarters. Worth staying even though there was no fuel there. We also drove the next day almost to North Pole--within 50 miles-- and stayed at the 'C' Lazy Moose rv. Again, no fuel or restaurant, but ice cream is good. Owners friendly. Don't be alarmed you can't see the rigs....there is a hill to go down behind to sites. Easy to blow by it so you have to be watching for it. Not a good Sam, but ask for the good Sam discount.. She offered it. We did NOT stay in Delta Junction. Call us snobby if you want, but there was a sign for an RV park before you got there that we drive in....park in poor shape and no 30 amp...just regular house plug ins. The Good Sam park in the other edge of town is closed. That's why we ended up several miles on down at the "C" Lazy Moose. Could have gone the extra hour to River's Edge but we're ready to sit down. River's edge at Fairbanks is nice and close to Fred Meyer store.Re: Roll Call Alaska 2015We are in Fairbanks right now, weds. June 10. Warning...rough roads and construction from Whitehorse north. The gravel is better driving, and no slower then the pavement! Safe travels!Re: Roll Call Alaska 2015we have been off the forum, living life...now it is almost time to leave and i feel like a missed a lot of conversation! question: Thinking of crossing at WildHorse in Montana. Looks quiet. Anyone crossed there before? Any advantages in crossing at quiet spot vs something like Sweetwater, other then perhaps less wait time??Re: Roll Call Alaska 2015Ca traveler...we are in! Lord willing! Robert & Jane from Elida, OhioRe: Roll Call Alaska 2015Well..gonna try this again! Thought we would be able to go in 2013, then 2014. A dear friend was diagnosed with pancreatic Cancer in Jan. 2013, so we felt we had to stay closer to home both years. He passed away in June 2014, so THIS IS THE YEAR...Lord willing. In 2013, we were planning, planning, planning. Now at this point, our whole plans consist of: leaving Ohio around Memorial Day, back to Ohio around Sept. 1. Period. Soooooooo...what will we miss if we din't reserve now??? Planning to find something small to tow to cut expenses then sell after the trip. We'll be the Silver GMC with a cap, Ohio License plates...stop and say "howdy!"Re: Roll Call Alaska 2013Well....regret that we are going to have to remove our name from the Roll Call for 2013. Dearhubby and I were looking forward to the trip, our first to Alaska, driving, that is....but God's still small voice has convinced us that it is not to be this year!!! We have the opportunity to take a mission trip to the Dominican Republic in the fall, and also a dear friend has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and so its better not to be gone so long. The roads looked really crowded with all of you, anyway....ha, ha, ha. Just joking...we were looking forward to spotting people on our trip that were signed up here. Perhaps next year will be the year, or perhaps we never will be able to...only God knows, but we pray all of you have a safe and enjoyable trip, and thanks for letting us dream for a while!!Re: Roll Call Alaska 2013Looking at tours, etc. tonight. Anyone know anything about the Alaskan Airline "Day at the top of the world" which is a one-day to Barrow and back to Fairbanks for 574/person?? Arctic tours one day to Barrow is over $700 and sounds very similar....Re: Roll Call Alaska 2013Thanks for suggestions and links. I found the coupon book. The specific things we were looking for aren't in it, but we'll look again. Perhaps I will forward mail to our son and he can go through it and open what looks vital. We really got into planning last night and I am in the process of printing these forum pages so I can read them better. Somehow on paper I can concentrate better then on a screen....lol. I tried to open that last RollCall sign and my computer didn't like it...is there a graphic on it?? Kept telling me it couldn't convert the graphic. Maybe tonight if I get the rest of the last few pages of posts read, I will find out something else I missed. We got the Alaska Camping book by Church and it has a LOT of good general info. Will wait a bit before I download the updates as y'all early travelers might add to it before we actually get headed north from our conference in Portland. Was thinking of printing one roll call paper, putting it in a sheet protector and taping to back of trailer, as there are no windows back there. That is, if dearhubby will let me put tape on the outside walls.....lol. Funny how people that hear about our trip ask about how cold it will be. Having trouble convincing people that it isn't always cold and snow in AK. We enjoyed our cruise/tour in the 90's and didn't hardly have to wear coats on land. We'll be prepared but not worried...Re: Roll Call Alaska 2013Oh yes...and I am wondering what the coupon book is??
