I was asked if my pop-up had a kitchen and bathroom (It doesn't...I wanted minimum maintenance). I say "self contained" meaning I have a camping potty and use 5-gallon bucket to tote gray water to the dumping station. Both of my kids slept with us as babies without any issues at all, and was especially nice for the overnight feedings" I'll second that! I once bragged on the baby for sleeping through the night. I have a Lifetime Trailer Tent Sahara model. We love it. I call it my wannabe toy hauler. We take everything and the kitchen sink and it hauls it all easily, so the car actually holds passengers now, LOL. I stow all the gear in bins with tight-fitting lids. When we get to the campsite, we just put the bins on the picnic table, drop the side wings down 90 degrees and erect the tent on it. Then it becomes my wannabe pop up. It has 7 foot height inside. We have tri-fold 3" thick twin-sized mats for the side beds and then put two on the floor for a king-sized bed. If we don't have guests, we put a folding craft table at the rear wall between the beds. In the summer we put a window unit air conditioner on the floor half in-half out the back door and zip it up around it, then stuff a tarp in any gap there. It has a port for the extension cord which gets plugged into a 6-outlet strip inside for the reading lamp, small heater or air conditioner, laptop, phone charger, and electric kettle for coffee in bed in the morning. When not hauling our kayaks, bikes, and camping gear, we use it for trips to the dump or Home Depot, depending on whether we are accumulating or getting rid of stuff! It fit our budget since we already had accumulated camping gear for decades (such as as screen dining tent with camp kitchen). Plus if something gets worn out, we just replace that particular item and have minimal maintenance and repair costs.383Views0likes0Comments
