I'm heading for Sault Ste Marie from Little rock and want to avoid the 69 north of Indianapolis with the constant bumpy and jerky conditions at times.Re: Lake SuperiorA nice route for someone from Michigan could be a circle route by crossing at the Sault, travelling north to Wawa on 17, then take 101 from Wawa over to Chapleau and 129 from Chapleau to Thessalon where you're back to highway 17, 50 miles east of the Sault. You get the colour most of the way to Wawa along with some decent views of Lake Superior, then from Wawa to Chapleau 101 levels out for an easy drive and there's a good opportunity to see moose, from Chapleau to Thessalon the Mississauga River area provides some nice scenery.Re: Campgrounds near Gulfport MSThanks everyone, I should have been more specific in that we're only staying for a few days and want full hookups. The casino campground sounds good. We downloaded the Woodall campground app onto our ipad and just don't put too much faith in it any longer. We saw one campground in Dickenson that looked OK by the photos but when we got there it was beyond horrible with long grass and a stack of tires infront of one trailer, junk around others etc., I stopped in front with my 4 ways on, walked to the office and asked if i was missing something, that there must be other part to the park or Woodalls has failed us miserably. We're in Jamaica Beach right now and satisfied...we're scouting for next year.Campgrounds near Gulfport MSWe're currently in Galveston with our next destination on the MS Gulf coast around Gulfport, anyone with suggestions for a good campground. We're not happy with the woodall app on our ipad.Re: Diesel vs gas......................Thanks enginenut, I think I'd buy a diesel handsdown but here in Ontario Ca. the diesel is $9,950.00 more plus there's a 13% tax on top of that which puts it over $11,000. I've been pouring over comments and articles to see if I can justify the extra $$ in fuel savings or longevity.Re: Diesel vs gas......................I'm in the process of purchasing a 2011 F250 and in researching the diesel versus gasoline engines read a bit of this thread and found it more of a waste of time considering the volumes of dialogue wandering all over the map, if people want to argue or get into a gabfest why don't they just exchange personal contact info. I know it's my choice whether I read it or not but I've come to appreciate and respect the wealth of info that our friends from across North America have accumulated and are so willing to share that it's a pity seeing it lost in such a marathon.Re: Diesel vs gas......................C'mon moderator, this has gone on far too long and has lost any value it may have originally had. I enjoy decent discussions on this very subject but this marathon which supposedly deals with the subject has in my opinion and I notice from other comments lost its appeal. Maybe the subject could be better served with a new posting.
