I occasionally like to make my own covers or pillows and seat cushions. I need to also add that I travel full time in a 40' motor home and my machine is an industrial grade Consew machine. I haven't used it as much as I thought I would but it sure comes in handy when I need it. It will sew just about anything. Oh yeah, and it weights right at 100 lbs with stand.Re: HWH levelersI had the same problem with my 2005 Newmar Northern Star. I had all the springs replaced with the new style springs. They have a taper toward the end of the spring were the hook is. I always have my jacks down and haven't had a problem since. Hope this helps.Re: Boondocking with 40" Motor HomeThanks cpd520 for the location. It's just what I was looking for, my first trial run at boondocking and I will be able to stop and see how long I can last without any hook-ups. I will then know whether or not to invest in solar energy or not. Your reply is very much appreciated, thank you. Thank you everyone!Re: Boondocking with 40" Motor HomeThanks everyone, I have spent the night in Flying J, Pilot and T/A on several occasions. I don't do walmart parking. I will be wintering in the Phoenix area from Dec thru Mar. I will check with the free camping and boondocking sites too. I normally stay at KOA's on my trips but just want to try out some boondocking to see how I like it. I full time and want to do more traveling but I also want to keep the cost down.Boondocking with 40" Motor HomeCould anyone tell me if they know of a few places I could boondock with my 40' DP towing? I'm heading for the Phoenix area this coming winter from Arkansas. I would like to take a couple of weeks to get there and try out some boondocking. I will be leaving Arkansas in November and heading west on I-10 to Phoenix and then up I-17 to Flagstaff and then I-40E back to Arkansas next May or June. I know that I am very limited with my 40' MH but thought someone out there might know of a few spots on my routes. I have never been boondocking before and would love to give it a try. Thanks everyoneRe: Humana InsOK, after talking with an agent again, I was told that I could go see any doctor I wanted but I would have to pay more out-of-pocket because Humana would not cover as much for an out of network doctor. My problem is while on the road, when I tell a doctor that I have Humana, most of them tell me that they do not accept Humana Ins. I guess I have never pushed the idea of asking them if they would file a claim with Humana for me anyway. I'm going back to my regular doctor, at least he will give me a years worth of prescriptions to last me while I'm out of Arkansas. I travel full time so it makes it hard for me to be in any one place the same time every year. I might be able to go to a clinic to have lab work done to get more meds if I don't make it back to see my doctor. I need to do more research. Thanks everyone for all the comments.Re: Quick meal ideas for late night arrival? If it were me arriving late and was hungry, I would want to keep it lite like maybe a sandwich or just have a few snacks. I don't sleep well with a full stomach. What do you mean by a quick meal? 30 minutes or less or 10 minutes or less? I can fix a complete meal in less than 30 minutes from frozen. Example: last night I had fish, 8 oz Cod from the freezer, baby baked potatoes and asparagus. Start to finish took 20 minutes. I would call that a quick meal. Last week I fixed a small pork roast, from the freezer, mashed potatoes, gravy and corn on the cob, all under 20 minutes. I try to keep either a chicken salad or tuna salad in the fridge ready to go for sandwiches though. It doesn't get any quicker than a sandwich. Most of my food I buy at the store, bring it home to the RV and cook it up, divide it and then freeze it in bags. I also try to keep about two weeks worth of food in the freezer ready to go. This is just my idea of quick meals.Re: Humana InsI do have a Humana Medicare Advantage Plan, a PPO. It comes with a prescription plan. You cannot use your Medicare card with this plan. Humana told me this plan would be the best for me since I live on the road. I am finding that to be a joke. I plan on calling them back and let them know what I think about it. I will just have to wait for the open enrollment period this coming October. Thanks everyone.Re: Humana InsThat seems to be the problem, I can't seem to find any doctors that are in their network, or that will take them.Humana InsHas anyone had any problems with getting medical attention using just medicare while on the road? I went with Humana insurance and I have a really hard time finding anyone that will take my insurance. I also have a medicare card but since I have Humana, no one will take my medicare. It's Humana or nothing, kinda strange I thought. I am thinking about dropping my Humana and going with just my medicare. Any thoughts out there? Thank you
