It was an easy task. At most it was done in a half hour.Re: Need to have two holes in my roof repaired - Jayco 1206First I feel your pain. .hard when something like that happens If your interested in sealing the roof I would highly recommend EternaBond. It works well as a permanent repair and is comparatively easy to use. It is not an invisible repair but it will blend it fairly well.Re: Officially Shopping For a Used PUP!The good POP UPs go quick. You should be prepared to act fast if you find one you are interested in. Sold my old one in two days to second person who looked at it. First person liked it too but was it not as big as they wanted. The ones in poorer shape will be around longer. Look for any signs of water damage. Water leaks are the biggest problem for pups. Campers at dealers have the highest mark up. They will be in no rush to bargain this time of year, after sitting on the campers all winter. Seems to me that the best time to buy is fall. Good Luck with you hunt.Re: New Ecotourer Folding TrailerLooks real nice. That's what we need here in the US, more innovative camper ideas. Australians seem to have a lot of new camper ideas. Here we seem to have fewer and fewer camper design choices.Re: This is a reason why Pop Ups aren't selling......Talk about limited choices in pop ups. I went to the Western New York RV show today. Of all the trailers there, the only pop up at the show was the canvas topped Livin' Lite Quicksilver. Sad.Re: This is a reason why Pop Ups aren't selling......The PU market has obviously been turn on it's head in the last 15 years. Sales are down 80% and major players left the market. Coleman / Fleetwood are out of the PU when they previously dominated sales. We are basically down to 2 or three manufactures where there used be scores of options. How much do you think the perceived quality of PU construction has had on this sales decline? I believe at one time Coleman, which had about 70% of the market, was considered well built. Of course that changed with the roof problems. From what I see here many people do not view the quality of any of today's PU to be very good. I know I don't. I am a long long time PU owner. In the last year I bought my fourth PU which is also the fourth brand I have owned. I find that it suits my camping preferences better than other options for many of the same reasons others have posted on this board. Over the years I think the quality of PUs has gone down hill. Yes, they have many more convenience features and they sure do look prettier, but when you get a new one you have to correct and finish construction! There after it's a constant battle of upkeep and repair that should not be be required on a new well maintained trailer. With the price of PU increasing dramatically, quality decreasing, coupled with more competitive alternatives, I don't see a bright future for those of us that enjoy like this style of camping.Re: Fewer pop ups out there?I read that Popup camper sales peaked in years around 1998 with sales of around 63,000 popups. Now only about 11,000 are being made per year. This is a decrease of 52,000 units per year a decline of 80%. Wow! No wonder I am not seeing hardly any new ones anymore. I guess that also explains why there are so few companies still making Pups, and few dealers interested in selling them. SSI reports that while travel trailer sales increased almost 10% this year, folding trailer sales declined about 4%. Forest River was the folding camping trailer sales leader year-to-date with a 64.9% market share while Jayco (14.2%) held the No. 2 position followed by Columbia Northwest/Aliner Inc. (10.4%).Re: Fewer pop ups out there?I guess the numbers don't lie. The are just fewer pups being sold out there. Maybe I better hang onto my PUP as a soon to be collectors item.Fewer pop ups out there?I it just me or are there fewer pop ups being sold? There are several RV dealers near me which are no longer stocking new pop ups. Those that still sell them seem to have less interest in selling pups versus other type of camping units. They don't even include pups in their sales adds. I travel the entire country and there seems to be less pups out there in the campgrounds than in the past years. Most of the pups I see out there seem to be vintage units. I see very few new units. What's going on?
