We've enjoyed watching the private jets coming and going.Re: Most RELIABLE Diesel 1 Ton Truck???Really it's personal preference but after researching the performance and reliability I chose the Duramax with the Allison transmission. Pulls our 30 foot 5th wheel over the continental divide in cruise control and almost lulls me to sleep.Re: Inverter helpWhen I installed a 1000 watt in my 5th wheel I connected the plus and minus to the battery and grounded to the chassis. Wouldn't work. As soon as I disconnect the ground the thing works perfectly. I use it with adapter and connect it from the inverter out to the power input for the trailer, powering the whole house.Re: Adding InverterOne caution... I hard wired a surge protector last year. I added an inverter this year. The inverter has terminals for + an - and a ground post. I connected the ground to the chassis. The surge protector didn't like it when I turned the inverter on. Turns out that connecting bothe the - to the batteries and the ground to the chassis created a ground loop which caused the surge protector to do it's thing. I disconnected the chassis ground and it works fine.Re: Adding InverterOne caution... I hard wired a surge protector last year. I added an inverter this year. I did have to replace one out of the 3 strings. The one string in the 5th wheel hasn't had a problem in the two years that it's been up.Re: outback solar mppt controllerI live in an off grid home with 2400 watts ( and expanding ) of solar panels with and Outback 80 amp charge controller. I've maxed this controller out so as I add 800 more watts I'm going to add another in parallel. This controller comes with more user selectable operating parameter than is feasible to list. A simple answer is yes I'm very satisfied with Outback..... funny thing is I haven't added solar to our 5th wheel yet.... http://www.backwoodssolar.com/outback-80a-charge-controllerRe: Just had enoughRetired at 62... 37 years in law enforcement... wish I would have done it sooner...
