I have Travelers Insurance. Your agent cannot WRITE insurance for another state. You live and are registering the MH in NY. You will have INSURANCE. I bought a MH from a dealer in New Hamshire several years ago and drove it back to NY with Temp plate from NH. I had insurance when I called my agent and had a faxed copy of the I'D card I did have to avoid driving through Mass because the state of Mass does not recognize temp plates and could have ticked and seized the vehicle. Check the state's you will be driving through for their laws governing temporary plates. When you register the MH be sure to have an ID card less than 45 days old for the MH.Re: Semi retirement guilt You opinionYou have been found GUILTY and have been sentenced to enjoying your life. You have been found NOT GUILTY and are free to enjoy your life. HERMANS HERMITS said it in a song "make the most of living if you're not prepared to die." I have only been retired a few months at 63 so I can't advise you. The MISTAKE I made when I retired. I THOUGHT I would miss the job. I DON'T.Re: need new hwt, first post!Options: Buy just the tank. About $ 200 delivered from eBay seller. But your not saving much considering the heater may be 30 years old. Check local craigslist for someone parting out a RV. Also look for ads "free removal for RV" ask if they sell used WH I had a 6 gallon gas/electric WH that was good for 4 adult showers in an hour. It took about 15-20 minutes to totally reheat after 4 showers. Consider the weight of the water added to your towing weightRe: Furnace not working...DeletedRe: How does this vacation route sound? Some travel info. For Liberty Park From northern NJ Take I-287 south to 24 east to I-78 East. Get off the last exit before the toll follow the signs to US 1 The exit for US 1 is a bit confusing. Just follow the signs. You should get a Metro Card for traveling around NYC by bus or subway. Kids shorter than 42 inches (your younger child) ride free. During the summer every year I had at least 3 or 4 customers a week try to put dollar bills in the fare box or pay me in cash (I'm a Retired NYC BUS driver) Near DC You cannot go through the tunnels with propane. Check the forum for the alternate routes. ENJOY YOUR TRIP!!Re: Travel Trailer to Sleep Family of 4 with Full Time DinetteAll RV manufactures have websites with links to dealers. RV shows start in January. The straight trailers ( no slide outs) are not usually featured but you can get an idea of the quality of the manufacturer. A 26 foot bunk house would probably suit your needs. Even some of the 3500 lb trailers have small slides With your TV you will probably exceed your TOW VEHICLE gross weight before you get past 6000 lbs for the loaded trailer The 7400 lb towing capacity is with no fuel no passengers and no "stuff" and a 150 lb driver. Look at dealer websites for used trailers and if you want a new one check the manufacturers website for the current year model Best of luck and enjoyRe: microwave problemReplace the microwave if it a "stand alone" unit.be sure to vent it to the existing vent. Otherwise you will have a moisture buildup or worse. Aluminum vent pipes are available from Lowes Home Depot or similar store. The flat vents are about $20 and the other fittings, are a few dollars. I replaced a keypad and a circuit board on a 6 year old microwave in 2008. As posted previously DO NOT open the unit unless you have knowledge of appliances. The parts were about $ 115 with shipping. Was a pain to track down the parts. The main reason I opted to repair was the microwave panel also controlled the exhaust fan and the exhaust fan would start automatically if the cook top passed a certain temp.Re: propane heater in trailer while travelingThanks again for all the replies.Cleo is an inside dog and sheds year round. She has been camping with us for 11years. We left the heat on when we had a MH and in a 40 foot trailer on a permanent site in the mountains of NJ. The truck gets cold in about 15 minutes when it is 35-40 degrees outside. We will be traveling next month and probably won't be far enough South the first day for temperatures much warmer than that. I will post with my experience with the heater running after I try it Thanks againRe: propane heater in trailer while travelingDefinitely will turn off when fueling. This is my 7th RV since 1980 . The spoiled 13 year old Lab mix rescue dog doesn't like to get cold especially after her walk. Cleo chose the CG we are staying at because it has a dog run. The training is going well. Cleo is pleased with our progress.Re: propane heater in trailer while travelingOOPS SAR Tracker (Darn spell correct)
