the sealer is self leveling and says it will never chalk and is uv resistant. it is compatible to use on vinyl roofs. there is currently no chalking on the roof. i just bought this camper so this is the first time i have done anything to it. i'm planning on cleaning the roof off with a mild cleaner and when it dries putting this stuff on and keep my fingers crossed lol! thanks for your help with this.232Views0likes0CommentsRe: hybrid camper roof
its an all-weather vinyl roof and I'm putting on EPDM Liquid Roof, they claim its the best stuff out there it was like $90 a gallon. It looks like the roof is still original and never been sealed other than some stuff they put on i think may be butyl tape? it doesn't look cracked or anything so I'm planning on just sealing over it but there's a few small areas i want to fill in before I seal it.232Views0likes0CommentsRe: hybrid camper roof
Thank you Wagon, I was kind of thinking the same thing, i will give it a good coating. there's a couple small areas i want to put some calk, the roof sealer says not to go over silicone calk, any idea what i should use? maybe something i can get at home depot verses the expensive camper store?232Views0likes0Commentshybrid camper roof
I have a 2003 starcraft hybrid and I noticed a few areas in the roof that the outer material is a little soft like it has separated from the roof a little i can press on it and it goes down like a 1/8th of an inch then under that its solid. I'm getting ready to paint/seal the roof with EPDM coating and wondering if i should try and fix these area, or just paint over them? I was thinking i could cut slits into them and put an adhesive under it and put some weight over them to dry? and then put butyl tape over the slits and then seal it? As stated, it is most likely is a laminated roof. If the ceiling is toast, what does the roof sheathing look like? Need to check that. I just purchased a 2003 Starcraft 23sds Travelstar hybrid. There was a leak in the roof and the ceiling was rippled. i have started to pull down the paper that was bubbling and have gotten to the Styrofoam in some of the areas. I was expecting to find cross beams every few feet but i don't see any. Is the ceiling and roof just held up by the foam and paneling? I'm drying everything out with a dehumidifier the best i can but trying to figure out what i can do to repair the ceiling after it dries.
