Re routed Toilet lines due to broken ball valve and no replacement available. Will put them back when I get the Thetford valve but meanwhile I have a 1/2" ball valve mounted to the wall (velcro) beside the toilet for manual operation. Removed Accumulator Tank as it was positioned badly in uninsulated bottom water compartment and was prone to freezing. Re ran all Fresh water lines to get them out of bottom compartment and up in higher compartment where it is warmer. Water seems to run fine without accumulator, no line hammer at all. Will get a new pump soon. Added 120v recepticle to water compartment with a thermo outlet to turn on power to a light bulb or ceramic heater when temp gets to 35 deg. Also have a heat tape on pump and most lines as backup. Insulated bottom water compartment. Replaced broken cargo door hinge. Replaced most light bulbs inside coach with LED.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???Used it to take a shower. Pipe broke in the house Friday night so we have had no water all weekend. Also working on reducing the battery usage for boondocking. Ordered LED lights to replace interior lights and a Thermo Cube to put a light bulb controlled by temp in the water bay.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???The step well cover slide has been out for awhile. Replacement pneumatic actuator @ $500.00. Power to one side but not the other. Service man told me the relay was out and you cannot buy only the relay have to buy the entire unit. The light came on yesterday, (check the switch stupid), it was out and I found a replacement, not exact but it works and i like it better. Installed new switch today, slide cover works like a charm. Total cost $6.29, I figgure I saved $493.71.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???Went to Cedar Falls Iowa just before Christmas and hit 7 below, accumulator froze and broke, had to replace it in a snowstorm. Got by with a ceramic heater and some heat tape. Accumulator was mounted in the coldest water compartment with no insulation, little heat from the furnace and water lines resting against the thin metal bottom of the compartment. Then in Taos NM over New Years it hit 17 below. The generator went into a fault from running constantly and while it was out everything froze again. So Yesterday I had the Generator set serviced and everything checked out ok, it is working fine. Put in a EC30W remote Generator starter and monitor to avoid future problems with overworking the generator and freezing when not present to restart the generator when necessary to keep the batteries up and the temp correct both cold and hot. Moved the Accumulator up off the floor of the compartment and insulated floor and walls. Wrapped all the lines with heat tape and put in a plug with 3 outlets for using the Block heater, Heat tape, and if necessary a small ceramic heater or 150W shop light for keeping things warm. I love dry camping summer and winter but it takes a little forethought and maintenance to keep the water running.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???Took off the Air Cleaner to replace the filter and found the filter cartridge they sold me was not what I needed. So I put the cleaner back in and had to order the correct cannister. (This is not an easy job, I learned the hard way you do not replace the filter you replace the entire Air Cleaner). Replaced the Chrome end on my exhaust pipe.Re: Fire Hazard Appliance Recalls UPDATED NORCOLD INFO 11-20-2010I called my local RV shop 2 weeks ago, they are still waiting for the part to come in so they can fix it. I am tired of staying home because of no fridge. It may be ice chest time this weekend.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???I scrubbed bugs off the winshield, Yesterday I scrubbed bugs off the front, tomorrow I will probally find more bugs. I love winter driving, no bugs.
