Century RV said if I didn't buy it there they couldn't work on it. Called Windish RV and they said they might be able to look at it around October. But on the positive side, everyone I spoke with was really nice and understanding. I'm trying to work with a local mobile/custom shop now. They've seen a lot of these before. I asked them if they could fix it properly (the way I would like to; plate steel bottom supported by new stronger angle iron brackets, hell I'll buy a new semi rigid tank if needed as well.) I'm not quite ready to tackle it myself, but if all else fails, will do that.Re: Keystone Carbon water tank leak - OMG poor quality!!!This is the response from Keystone: Good Morning Mr. ------, Thank you for contacting Keystone RV. I’m sorry to hear of the issue you have encountered with your Carbon. I’m not sure which local dealer you had a bad experience with, but I have listed the 3 closest dealers to you below. Our warranty agreement we have with you states that all warranty concerns need to be addressed at an authorized dealer. They have the ability to inspect, diagnose and submit the concerns to Keystone electronically. Our Service Department will respond within 2 days with approvals/denials. Then they can order any needed parts after approvals are given. Let me know if I can be of additional assistance. Have a great day! 'This is great, except that the dealers she referenced all said they only service what they sell, and they are all at least 2 mos out from even being able to look at it'Keystone Carbon water tank leak - OMG poor quality!!!Have to vent. Bought a new Keystone Carbon 364 Toyhauler last August, used a couple times last year. Used a couple times this year so far. When we picked it up we noticed a sharp looking bulge underneath in the coroplast underlayer. But since you can't just access that, we let it go and drove home. After traveling about 2500 miles on the few trips (Moab, CO mtns, etc) we noticed the bulge getting lower and it looked like something was about to pierce the underbelly since the bolts holding it were tearing thru the coroplast. I cut the coroplast, insulation, and unbolted the sides. That literally SAVED MY FAMIMLIES LIFE!!! Two of the water tank support bars (the frame supports) were never attached on one end from the factory so they were just being supported by the coroplast. It was the forward end not attached so that if they would have fallen, they would have spiked into the road when traveling, which would have levered the water tank, dropped the electrical wires, propane lines, and other loose hoses being only held up by the underbelly onto the highway. Probably would have been a spectacular wreck attributed to driver error, of course. Also, the tank is apparently missing one entire support bar nearest the tank drain, intake, sensors. This has distorted the entire tank, and towing with only two bars on bent the bars that were installed about 4 inches! So the tank distortion has now caused a water leak at the main drain. I took pics that clearly showed the bars never being attached on one side and sent them to Keystone. The response I got was 'bring it to a dealer, that's what you agreed to'. Sadly, in the Denver area, the Keystone RV dealers have a two month wait now along with a you didn't buy it here, so we will not service your unit policy. So supposed to have a big trip to Moab with 6 other families and units over Memorial day, and my new Keystone Carbon Toyhauler leaks and can't be fixed! Keystone and your lack of quality control and warranty service! It's like they built this on a Friday and everyone decided to quit early to go drinking. I'm going to try to contact the factory tomorrow and see if I can tow it back to IN from CO and see if maybe they aren't too busy pushing new units to fix this one. I'm not optimistic. Any suggestion on fixing this are welcome. thanks for reading the rant. $60k for nothing. Raptor, Carbon, Fusion, Impact, Outback all built by KeystoneRe: Badlands KOA/ BlackHIlls Big PineWe have stayed at Big Pine twice. It is our favorite place around the area. I think it's under new ownership in the last couple years, because we met them this last time we stayed late last year. Very nice and helpful. The space to maneuver in the park was good, the sites are well spaced, plus they offer help parking if you like. hope this helpsRe: Suggestions on reputable 5th wheel toy haulerFor what it's worth to add to the discussion, we purchased a keystone Carbon 364 (because the layout, CCC, length, etc worked for our particular wants), and have been very happy with it so far.Re: Furnace heat not working when on shore powerIt definately eats the propane, lol. The batteries are fine, we usually boondock pretty high up in the mtns where it drops into the 20's and 30's most nights. The heater runs quite a bit. Was just hoping that for the few times early and late in the season, when we happen to be at campgrounds, that there was an electric option since it looked like it from the thermostat. We will just use a portable electric heater to augment the propane in those situations. It's all good!Re: Furnace heat not working when on shore powerok, thanks. We love the trailer, just didn't quite understand the thermostat operation or infrastructure design. I think the small portable electric heater option, when plugged into campground power, for the early spring and late fall trips will work great to supplement the propane furnace operation. thank you all for the help and replies!Re: Furnace heat not working when on shore powerI believe the furnace is propane only, not sure. I think the heat strips, or lack thereof, in the air units is the answer. Just don't know for sure. Also, do not know if there is a furnace 'upgrade' that we can get that will function both electric and propane. Or do we have to have 'heat strips' installed and then connected to the thermostat?
