Would you paid a extra 5 dollars a night for a larger lot.Re: Building RV park near McKinney TX, what would you want most? sayoung wrote: I know how expensive concrete is but with the type soil you have there all roads & pads should be concrete, imo. Concrete is very high today, and if the park is 60 to 100 miles from the concrete company very very high cost. But yet because the park is far from anywhere in the west and you are sleepy so you stop, but yet you want it cheap and a great site. If it is a couple bucks over the last park, you are writting him up as greedy.Re: Arizona winter stay campgrounds MichaelJanice wrote: We are considering to winter 3 months in AZ. I usually use Google satellite view to find pull off spots, but that road doesn't show too many of those. Must be hilly. Very few, we stay at a place, ok, poorly run this summer.Re: RV park rates BillyBob Jim wrote: It's amazing the lengths some will go to in order to squirrel away a nickel. The best I have seen lately was the couple in a new class C Dynamax Force who arrived late, took an undeveloped site using an honor system envelope near 3 different tent camping families, then thought they were going to run the onboard genny all night for the AC. This when there were dozens of electric sites unoccupied. When the gent was confronted about the noise of the genny and told about the electric sites, he even admitted he took the undeveloped site to save the additional $6.50 the electric site would have cost. Can you even run an onboard genny for 8 hours or so for an AC on $6.50 in fuel. :S $140K new super C + squeaking for $6.50 = priceless. Thats a sad story.Maybe if he has 50 cents you could have found 6 folks with a dollar for him.Re: Is there a safe place to stay in Tucumcari? Just pay a few bucks and be safe.Re: The Catwalk rebuilt agesilaus wrote: One of our favorite spots in New Mexico, the Catwalk National Trail is repaired and back in operation. This is a actual metal Catwalk built along the side of a canyon wall off Hwy US 180 about 60 miles north of Silver Springs. The walk is easy and leads you thru a cool narrow canyon up to an area of pools in the river with short falls. Good for a dip. We had visited several times and were planing another when the news reached use that flash floods in 2013 washed the catwalk away. I decided to check it's status tonight to find it has been rebuilt (for the third time) and has reopened. The catwalk Going north from Silver City or Deming? I urge you to check this place out. It's a short trip maybe an hour or two depending on whether you take a swim. Don't tell anybody where it is, I been using it for over 30 years. It is 35 miles from my cabin.
