Re: What generator to get?
We have had a Yamaha 3000iSEB for about four years now and really like it. When something like an AC starts the generator gets a 500 watt boost from the battery. It has electric start, a gas shutoff and is nice and quiet. It is heavy though (about 150 lbs). We have a topper on the truck so leave the generator in there all the time even when running it. In reading this I wonder if I should toss in a set of chains for the truck. Might never need them but what the heck is another few pounds. I have always believed the idea of controlling holding tank odors is something created by the chemical industry to sell products rather than to alleviate a problem. For those of you who swear by chemical use did you have odor problems that led you to use them? With so many of us not having odor problems without chemicals why not at least try plain old water? Oh, for those of you who believe you add chemicals to assist in breaking down the waste you are simply wasting money. As some others pointed out RVs have holding tanks not treatment systems. The last time we were in Yellowstone we drove for about an hour and decided to get out of there and find some peace and quiet. Idiots pulled over where they weren't supposed be, people driving too fast and people walking everywhere on roads. I figured after hitting the brakes a few times we were just going to get plowed into by someone driving behind us. Like pianotuna we also went with the Yamaha 3000 iSEB. The downside is it is heavier but it will easily run our AC and it doesn't rev as high as some of the smaller units. We leave it in the rear of our truck that has a topper so one can hardly hear it run.158Views0likes0Comments
