In fact, why don't you point out anytime I made an anti-diesel comment. Since you can't, all I did was point out the financial ignorance of the statement. Nothing more. The obvious escapes you. Did you go to the the AOC or Bye-don school of finance? LOL.Re: Ford Super Duty 6.2 Super Ike Gauntlet Pull rhagfo wrote: Well yes the upfront cost is more, but worth more at trade in or selling. I got lucky I got working hubs , heater ,and AC on my Ram That doesn't mean much - you got lucky and never required a repair. Ram is the only manufacture we have ever owned that won't honor a warranty. From numerous threads I've read, I'm sure they'd put a spot weld on the AC and heater if a dodge knuckle dragger said it would fix the problem. Apparently, a spot weld was the common factory fix for almost anything that broke on the older dodges.Re: Ram 3500 issue FishOnOne wrote: ...There is after market locking hub upgrades for a Ram. He'll shut the down the factories and make sure the union leaders are paid off. If the SRW 7.3 gas Ford I end up with still has the problem, I'm fairly certain that Ford will either fix it before delivery or I could refuse it until it's fixed. So, dream up stupid bye-don conclusions all you want. That's better than the Ram record of two appointments for a emissions update (recall), and three appointments to address a safety recall (bed step). Every car I have ever owned, rented and test drove has had a functioning radio, heater and AC. Ram couldn't fix a 2019 Laramie's problems while under warranty. LOL.Re: The price of new trucks is beyond comprehension! Timmo! wrote: August of 2005 I bought my F150 4x4 Lariat with every option available and paid $36k, financed by Ford's no interest loan. Today it has 77,500 miles. Drove to South Central Oregon a few weeks ago and it averaged 18.5 MPG; around town 13.5 MPG. When towing TT, it blesses me with 9-10 MPG, even more if I didn't drive 60-65 MPH. My brother in law just paid $75k for his new "used" F250. WTF I say.... In 2006, I bought a used 2005 Ford F350 Dually V10 from a Ford dealer. It had a little over 20,000 miles. It came with a factory extended 4 year, 75,000 mile warranty, which gave me 4 years of warranty to almost 100,000 miles. It cost $20,000 out the door, including tax and license. 20 years later, it has only been at Ford once for a repair to check on an ABS light which they fixed under warranty (loose connector). It now has 146,000 and everything works fine. Even the radio, heater and AC work. In 2019, I ordered and bought a Ram 3500 Dually HO and it cost much more than the Ford, and at the time I didn't care. Since then, It had three recalls, plus was in the shop numerous times for radio, AC, Heater, clunks, and transmission issues, etc. Ram couldn't fix the radio, heater, AC or clunks even though TSBs exist. Even though the title of the thread is "The price of new trucks is beyond comprehension! ", in my opinion, "The incompetence of Ram and their dealerships s beyond comprehension."
