I only paid $250 for the deductible.Replaced front picture window on a LanceOn our Christmas camping trip we went to some caverns in Arizona. somewhere in/around Lordsburg, NM something his the front window of the Lance and shatters that large window. It's a double pane 4-seasons model and the interior pane was fine. Slapped some tape over it in an asterisk pattern, called the insurance company, and continued to camp. Went on several other camping trips since. Our Lance is a 2015 model 1995. That was the year Lance decided to give more of a tear-drop shape to the nose, and switched the front window from a horizontal to a vertical. Oh, and somehow thought it was a good idea to leave off protection for that wonderful window. That was my first thought when I saw the trailer before buying. But it was the trailer we really wanted and had no choice. It's a great window. We love it. On the inside it's got a beautiful hard valance that holds the day/night shades. But no hard cover for that picture window on the outside to protect it from flying stones/debris. The replacement window unit arrived from Lance about a week ago and last night the glass repairman met us at the trailer and replaced it. I could not believe how easy it was. I've had them replace my vehicle windows before and though the same type of install would apply. They removed the valance from the inside, exposing a couple dozen screws around the frame of the window. Took them off, and the entire unit just popped right out. No messy caulking or anything. All rubber seals. The new one slid right into the hole from the outside, and when screwed from the inside tightened that rubber right on up. Guaranteed not to leak for as along as we own it. If it weren't for the price of that window, I'd be half temped to just do it myself if it ever became an issue again, but the price of the deductible is about a fifth of the cost of that window. This leads me to stop and think about installing some type of protection for that window. It's curved so a panel of sorts wouldn't be readily available. Maybe some rough canvas cut out the size of the window plus an inch or so and install some type of barrel clips on the RV with metal grommet holes or something on the canvas. I'll think of something. I just wanted to share how easy that was to do.Re: What size of generator do you have?I use a champion 4000 w when I plan on using air conditioning. Other than that I carry a WEN 2000w inverter genny. Mostly I rely on solar panels. When no air conditioning is needed.Re: Does any not pull their emergency trailer brake cable?I never have. By Tuesday I had heard nothing from CW - not even a tracking number. Nothing. So I ordered the same item off of Amazon and it's going to be here this Saturday. Boom. That's how you do business, kids. Then I called Campingworld's customer service to cancel the order. Here's the thing: my order hasn't even shipped yet. It's still in a warehouse somewhere but they won't let me cancel my order. To sum up : Nearly a week later my item is still sitting there, unshipped, and I want to cancel the order but they're going to send it to me anyway. If it was in-transit, I could understand. You guys are the worst. hahaha... yeah, their online store operates as if it were from the 1990s. I will never buy another item from their online store again. I use it as a "catalog" to see if they have something and read up on it. Then I'll buy it off amazon and have it 2 days later with free shipping, or overnighted for somewhere around four bucks.Re: new battery dead while pluged in fun w son wrote: Was noticing that when you change the converter, you change the 12v fuse board... Is that a required thing or recommended thing required if you want to use the charge wizard override options. The control is on that board. Or you could order the remote pendent for about $10 and install it anywhere and keep your existing board. Swapping the board is easy.Re: new battery dead while pluged in krobbe wrote: I'm going with a bad converter. Time to upgrade it. Just upgraded mine, Details here. Very smokey.Re: Planning trip through NM and AZ any cool points of interest?Kartchner Caverns just south of Benson, AZ. All sorts of places in both states. We live in El Paso and are always hitting something new or making return trips from those two areas.
