I bought an echo tune up kit that came with a fuel filter/air filter/spark plug. I replaced only the fuel filter and it started up and runs strong. Should I also change the air filter/spark plug or leave well enough alone until something else happens?Re: Small engine questionI've got a weed eater running on the same gas.Re: Small engine questionI can't say it runs better with choke.Re: Small engine questionIf it is clogged; is there anything that can be run through it that will unclog it without the whole taking it apart?Re: Small engine questionThanks guys; this gives me no less than 3 things to try!Re: Small engine questionThe fuel might not be the freshest, but it was pure gas and double stabil treated. Do you think it is more likely a fuel age issue than a filter issue?Re: Small engine questionPB-500T I think. I somewhat recall using a folded metal wire to pull the filter out of the tank. Tank is full right now though...Small engine questionSince you guys know tons of stuff I figured perhaps a question about my Echo blower would be something you guys would know. It is a 2 cycle engine and I can get it started, but it acts like it is starving for fuel. It will run slowly, but if you try to give it more throttle, it will stall out. The other thing that is odd is that the bulb you use to prime the carb will let you press it, but it doesn't come back out easily like it used to. Could it be a fuel filter that needs replacement? It seems like those are often the culprit...Re: 2 cycle engine question... FIXED!Fuel filter was the issue. I pulled it out of the tank carefully with a hook wire and replaced it with the one from the kit. Put it back in and it started right up and runs solid at low or high RPM. I appreciate the help everyone!!!!
