One morning the sun was shining on the front of the unit and I spotted the black, rectangular, un-labeled switch on the front in the top right corner. Fixed the fireplace ;)Re: Looking for advice on best way To keep large toy hauler cool mrad wrote: Windows were my next question. Wondering if putting any of the anti-solar film on the windows would help at all. windows might make up 20% of my siding. We spent last June in our 5th wheel in Mesquite, NV. High temperatures were 100+ degrees every day. We were able to keep the inside temperature near 80 during the hottest part of the day. 2 rooftop a/c units and a free standing portable vented out a rear window. I made a thin plywood insert to fit the window frame, window open. I found a couple of rolls of foam filled foil insulation at Ace hardware and cut it to fit inside all the window frames except the small window in the slide out looking at the door. There were about a half dozen full timers in the park and they all did the same.Re: Chicago to Cedar City, UT - route 70 or 80? Looking at the maps, can come across and stay on 70 through Denver or split off onto 80 and go north around through Salt Lake City- Thoughts? Which is flatter? Mile diff only about 80 mile, time about 1 hour, but looking for thoughts on the drive. I-80 across WY to Park City, UT, then south to Heber City, Provo Canyon through Provo to join I-15. Phillips RV park in Evanston, WY, is an okay overnight, Cedar City the next day. Drive through Provo after 9 AM. Now I have the opportunity to go to Park City UT for a week and I will be renting a Jeep. Can anyone direct me to some of the best 4 wheel drive trails in that area? Check out the OHV roads in the Uinta Mountains east of Park City. Mirror Lake scenic route, highway 150, between Kamas, UT, and Evanston, WY. Beautiful country.Re: Bryce, Zion, Canyonlands, Moab end of April gkainz wrote: Traveling home to CO from .... let's say St. George, UT :) and looking for suggestions to see the Utah sights on that route with 4 or 5 nights to spend end of April. We're trying to learn how to balance my "perfectly comfortable bookdocking on BLM, NF, etc" and my wife's comfort level satisfied by commercial RV parks, and learning to adapt to NF campgrounds if needed. We've driven I-70 back and forth for years between CO and the coast, but have always been going to or coming home from, and haven't yet taken the time to explore all that area. Suggestions? Thanks! What can I expect towing 16k? Does the RAM have enough power to keep up good speed going up hill? If so, what are you towing and what is your tow vehicle?…” I’m towing about 12,000 lbs. No problem holding 65-70 on some significant hills. Parleys Canyon, I-80 east of Salt Lake and the “Sisters”, I-80 east of Evanston, Wy, come to mind. Along with Scipio Pass and similar on I15 in UT. The Cummins doesn’t care, just more fuel and DEF ;). My 5’er tires are rated at 75 mph.Re: Ram 2500/Cummins KHJPHOTO wrote: Yup got the truck - beautiful and love it. Reading here from you guys just thinking it won’t do the job. $70 grand is a hard hit if it won’t do the job!. Speaking with the dealer they tell me the pin weight of a 13,000 lb 5th wheel should be around 1800 lbs; but the specs on the trailer say 3300. You have a PM.Re: When do Snow Birds head south??Southbound, I-15 through UT for the last two days. Many Canadian license plates on a variety of vehicles. Nice to see!Re: Furnace flames cycles off before temp is reached Fulltimer50 wrote: The furnace has a safety feature that turns off the flame when it reaches an unsafe temp. The fan continues to run in order to lower the temp. Then the flame can come back on if the room temp has not reached the set temp. Your furnace is doing what it supposed to do. However I would make sure that there are no blocked heater ducts as low air flow can cause problems. That’s exactly how mine works.Re: When do Snow Birds head south??This Thursday during a good weather window. Spot reserved November through April.
