Was in Japan recently and all toll roads have gates w ETC Electronic Toll Control, automatic toll readers which most cars trucks have inside. Plus theres also atendant booth that takes cash or cc. Grab a ticket when entering highway and pay on exiting. The price is displayed instantly when paying or spoken by computer in your car when exiting without stoping. Very convenient and precise, japanese are serious about perfection in everything. Only downside its bit pricey,to drive on toll roads about 30$ for 300 klicks. Sounds similar to how tolls used to be here in US. No idea if accurate but Google search showed average toll attendant salary in Japan as about $8 per hour. I'd guess the US average was 3x that - hence no more US toll attendants.Re: Nascar Hall of Fame - Charlotte, NCI went several years back while in Charlotte for work so I didn't have RV parking to worry about. I really enjoyed it as my NASCAR fandom is more with the older, historical drivers. I've been thinking of another trip with RV since I didn't get but a few hours to visit.Re: Is there such a thing a decent valve extender?I've had 6" solid extensions from Amazon for 2 years and no issues. I did use a support for them through the hand hole in wheel.Re: Travel through AtlantaAs mentioned by someone else, south of Atl in the Henry County/McDonough area is now just as bad as downtown. I suggest studying the route on Google Maps and make note of which lanes you need to be in and then just stick to them. Don't try to do a bunch of lane changing thinking it will get you ahead. On the north side of the "connector" (where I75 and I85 run together), I75 splits from the right lanes and they cross each other after the split. Also, they've now painted large interstate "signs" on the lanes. They help a lot.Re: Coach Net has wrong name on my accountI went to pay my renewal and someone named Jim had already paid for me :) Just kidding! Yes, there is lots of weird and funny stuff going on.Re: Williamsburg, VAWe spent several days doing Colonial Williamsburg. I forget name of RV park we stayed at but it was short drive to the Colonial Williamsburg main parking area. We drove of 24ft class C each day and parked in lot that was mostly for tour buses. We never have an issue parking but was a little longer hike to attractions than main lots. The history part you'll see if much more hands-on interpretation of the history...not just seeing/reading/hearing about it. EDIT - just looked at parking on Google Maps. The lot we used is actually across the Visitor Center Rd from the tour bus lot.Re: Dragging a Trailer Up a Mountain to Snowmobile CampHis videos are awesome! When he took a look at the bumper, I was expecting to hear him say, “Look at that, the bumper bent for no good reason.”Re: I'm actually in favor of high cancelation fees....It might be difficult to implement, but I really like the idea of a suspension period for those that habitually cancel reservations.Re: I'm actually in favor of high cancelation fees....We're seeing similar issues of sites showing reserved in the reservation system but then being empty all weekend. An additional theory I've heard is folks that rent RVs through Outdoorsy or similar will reserve lots of weekends in case they get renters. If they don't get renters, they cancel for minimal fee.Re: My cousin's family's bus buildWay cool that they are related to you! We've been following their build for a while now and really enjoy it. Tell them super job on the build!!!
