It's tight, but it is big enough for me to get the job done. If someone was substantially more girthy than I, getting into the camper with the slide shut, and using the shower could be an issue. The parking lot at the Griffith Observatory: (click for a bigger picture) You'd never get in there with a motorhome. I'm glad you mention that you can squeeze in with the slide closed....we can squeeze into our 1181 but we werent' sure the 1150 floorplan would allow that.Re: AF 1150, couple of questionsWell, We went to Yuma to look at the Lance 1062 and the 975. We were thinking we'd cross the 975 off our list easily, and we did. It has very little storage inside and hardly any outside. We thought we'd like the 1062 but we didn't think it had anything more to offer over the AF 1150 and it has two slides, not just one. I thought the shower would be bigger than the 1150 AF, and it was, a little, but not enough to make a difference. Before we left we took a peek in the Lance 1172, which we decided a year ago we didnt want, and wow, now its back on the potential list. Although we don't care about the sofa, it has the same roomy bath as our 1181, and lots of interior storage, plus an exterior compartment big enough for chairs and our grill, which none of the others has. What I don't like is that we were hoping to go a little smaller, not bigger! Plus you have to open Both slides to get to the bathroom.... Now we need to weigh which priorities are the most important ??Re: AF 1150, couple of questions Hemi Joel wrote: I looked at the Lance 1172 at RV world in Yuma today. Very nice! Great people to deal with too. I'm on a road trip with my Arctic Fox 1150, been to Denver, Arches NP, Zion NP, Vegas, LA, Palm springs, San Diego, Yuma, and I'm really loving my 1150. Except when I have to sit at my computer and work, I wish a had a recliner to sit on. I haven't decided yet if I want to blow $40,000+ to upgrade to a comfy chair. One thing that I love about the AF 1150 that the 2 and 3 slide Host, Lance, and Eagle cap don't offer: I can squeeze into a tiny parking space, and still enter the camper without opening the slide and it is fully usable. That was especially useful at some of the popular places in the Los Angeles area like the Griffith Observatory and Runyon Canyon. Very tight parking. So far, all the campers I have looked at that have a recliner chair need to have the slides open to enter. We are likely headed ro RV world in a week or so to look at the Lance 1062 and 975. We don't care for the 1172. We can fully access our 1181 with the slide in and agree its important. What do you think of the shower space in your 1150?Re: AF 1150, couple of questions KKELLER14K wrote: Glad to have helped...come back and re-post what you think about that floor plan...going to look at it. Lance has always been a name brand...tell us what you think about what you find about the pro and con between the two. It would be a good discussion. We booked a tour at the lance factory for March 7th. If they have the 1062 there we will take a close look at it. There are also two for sale in Yuma, along with a Lance 975 which I don't think is on our list, but I would still like to see one. We may make a 4 day trip and check them all out. Took our 1181 to a fireworks deal this past weekend. Still like it, just really want newer.Re: AF 1150, couple of questionsWell thanks for the answers. We are pretty much crossing this floorplan off our list and will go look at the Lance 1062.Re: AF 1150, couple of questions Bedlam wrote: Prior to 2012, the manual said not to take it off the truck with full tanks without supporting the bottom. Later models can be used with tanks filled or empty while unloaded. Is the model you want with a wet bath or dry? The wet bath gives you a bigger shower. Sorry, dry bath. I understand I would have more room with a wet bath, but after many years of wet baths in our boat, I am over it. I updated OP with that info, thanks.AF 1150, couple of questionsWe have a Lance but are looking at the AF 1150. Our biggest concern is the lack of space in the shower. We are looking at the dry bath,as I am not interested in having a wet bath. Been there, done that. We are normal sized people and it feels very cramped to us. Anyone who has that floorplan, have you found it to be an issue? I know we could probably add an extend a shower rod and that might help. Also, is it true that AF says their units should not be used unless they are on a truck? Thanks, SueRe: Dalton Highway Images Spent a week going to Deadhorse and back. Incredible.Re: Quartzsite AZ first stop, first tripLeaving Quartzsite even as we speak. We stopped to get Silly Al's pizza- yum. The thing about Quartzsite is that its really fun in January and Feb when its a beehive of activity. If you have never been there, and go now, you will likely wonder what all the fuss is about. Oh, and it is 93* here today If you want to boondock, here is a spot that you will fit and is easy to get to Plomosa Rd Not sure if the link will work but the coordinates are: 33.7560625 -114.1901875Re: Which Campground Will You Never Go Back ToJellystone Park Larkspur Colorado. Very weird sites, parallel parking along interior roads with your door opening into the street, electric was so bad it tripped our Power management system. We called maintenance and he brought a light bulb to plug in, and insisted that the electric worked fine when the light bulb lit.. He did finally move us. Oh, and the trains literally came thru the campground, they were so close. Never again! I did think it was interesting to see all the "votes" for Candy Hill. We stayed there one night on our way from MA to TX. It was ok for that but I remember thinking it was pricy for what you got.
