Good to go or is this going to be a full-on MacGyver kinda deal. 2004 is still new enough that parts aren't too much trouble. Ford made a gazillion cutaways of both E-350 and E-450 style, and the powertrain systems are used on other vehicles too. Chassis parts won't be a problem. As for house parts, most manufacturers use the same ovens, refrigerators, and all that. Those parts aren't so hard to find, either. My home is a 2005 on a 2004 chassis. I haven't had any problems finding bits and pieces to keep it in service.Re: Full Time RVers using mail forwarding and Denied CreditThis is a strange one. I've been fulltiming for almost three years. I have a Chase card that I had before moving into the motorhome, and a Walmart card that I got shortly after beginning the trip. Neither have problems with my Escapees address. Others have advised you to shop around. I agree with that.Re: My experience trying to buy a motorhomeI'd bet you aren't getting many calls from sales agents because they aren't having to work as hard. RV sales are the greatest they've been--ever. Quite the turnaround since a decade ago. https://www.cnbc.com/2017/07/28/the-rv-space-is-on-fire-millennials-expected-to-push-sales-to-record-highs.html I've seen your other threads. Keep looking for quality, and don't wait on other people to call you. You'll find the one that fits even if it's a bit of a drive to get it.Re: Anyone haul an dual sport motorcycle with their class C? Wolfe wrote: DRZ 400 about 300 lbs, no issues. How far is it from your axle to your bumper? I have a SM with some mods that's probably pushing 350#. Using this calculator I determined that it would not be safe to put the DRZ on a hitch mount with my 11' overhang between axle and bumper. Very sad, as I love that motorcycle. How much weight did you end up with on the rear axle? Thanks!Re: Why do Class C's always leak in the front upper bunk area? Mich F wrote: Scary pictures Slight thread drift, but can you give a ballpark estimate of how much a repair like this costs? I don't have enough to worry about, and it looks like this might be something to keep me awake at night. ;)Re: Looking into getting a class C motorhomeWhen I was deciding on whether to get a truck camper or class C, or even something else, I bought a membership in RV Consumer Group. It was about $140, and worth every penny. You'll get a few printed books and lots of spreadsheet/database information. They are a little conservative with their ratings and advice, but it helped me know what to look for in both the unit and from the sales person. Read, read, read. Don't rush in to anything, even when you find "The One."
